Welcome to Set Apart Virtual Gathering 2021. We are so honored that you have joined us!!

Thank you for venturing into this new experience with us. Although we much prefer to be together in person (because we love you all so much) we are very grateful and excited that we are able to meet together virtually.

When our committee first discussed the idea of developing a virtual conference, I have to admit, I had some reservations. But after much prayer and discussion, we decided to move ahead. One of the biggest blessings for us, the committee, was meeting three amazing students from the University of Northwestern who really came along side us and helped us create what you will see today. Thank you Josh, Carson, and Ben for your creativity, vision, patience, and skill! May you be blessed for the tender ways you walked alongside us this year.

One of the nice things about a virtual conference is that you can go at your own pace, stopping and starting as needed. We want to encourage you to take these messages at your own pace. It is our desire for this virtual conference to be a vehicle through which God will speak very personally to each and every one of you. Also, if God moves you to share what you are learning or experiencing with someone in your life, then please take the time to do that as well. The gospel is spread through the ordinary of life while sharing the miracle of God’s work in our lives with those around us.

So please take the time to process whatever God brings to your heart and mind. Invite that conversation, linger with that word, and listen to what God has for you through this conference and may His Hope, Joy, and Peace be ever more present in your ordinary life on a daily basis.

Northwestern - St. Paul and Media, the Set Apart Conference strives to equip women to grow intellectually and spiritually, to serve effectively, and to give God-honoring leadership in the home, church, community, and world by utilizing Christian speakers, relevant workshops, and fellowship opportunities while generating scholarship funds for students attending University of Northwestern.

Worship Leader Katy Dahl

Set Apart welcomes Katy Dahl back as Conference Worship Leader along with her worship team Stephen Witt, Logan Ridpath, Keldon Ellis & Andrew Kalapauch as they lead us in praise and musical worship of our Holy God, who is trustworthy and exalted!

Katy Dahl is an artist and worship leader in the Twin Cities. She finished her B.S. in Music Ministry at UNW and is currently on staff as the worship associate at Grace Church Chaska. She released two albums of original songs and has had opportunities to work with a variety of national artists in the last couple of years. In the last year, several of her songs have received air play on radio stations across the world. Katy is passionate about others knowing the message of the Gospel and is grateful for the opportunity to share that message through music. When she isn’t making music, Katy enjoys the outdoors, exploring new places, and a good cup of coffee!

Ke�n�� Speaker Pam Tebow

Pam Tebo� loves speaking for women's events, prolife and other non-profit groups, and various events in many cities across the country. Her notoriety increased when her youngest son Tim, quarterback for the Florida Gators, became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. Pam has appeared on "Good Morning America" and other talk shows and won National awards, including the "Hope and a Future" in 2010, Eagle Forum's "Woman of the Year" and "Witness in the Public Square" in 2012, "Commission for Women's Inspiring Woman of the Year" in 2013, "Extraordinary Woman of the Year" in 2015, and "National Pro Life Recognition Award" in 2017.

Pam is passionate about encouraging people of all ages to trust the Lord with all their hearts for all their lives and use the incredible influence God has given them to eternally impact their world. This is the subject of her first book Ripple Effects (Tyndale House Publishers), released Mother's Day 2019.

Pam Tebow shares how the peace, hope, and joy that Christ offers us has influenced the way she lives and interacts with those around her. She shares times in her own life when it would seem impossible to live out, but instead Christ was faithful. Amidst the years of trials and hardships in this life, we can lean on God to keep his promises and find peace, hope, and joy. When we are living in abundance of these three qualities, it transforms the way we care for ourselves and others. You will be blessed by the way she encourages all of us to step into the peace, hope, and joy that Christ offers for us.

MN Adult and Teen Challenge Since 1983, MN Adult & Teen Challenge has been restoring hope to Minnesotans struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Our full continuum of care for men, women and teens ranges from outpatient services to residential treatment, transition planning, and aftercare. We offer: - Individualized and trauma-informed care in a gender responsive environment - Places and spaces that feel safe enough to heal - Integrated and comprehensive treatment approach - Psychiatric medicine and ambulatory withdrawal services - Treatment built around relationships and community - Family involvement and connection – we provide different ways for families and loved ones to stay connected In our twelve locations across the state we are helping over 900 at any given time, and we can't do it without the community.

The Dwelling Place is a Christ-centered ministry providing healing and hope to victims of domestic abuse through supportive services and a safe, transitional place to call home. In this way, they offer the precious gift of time and the love of Christ needed for safety, healing, and personal development that equips women and children to live free of abuse. Located in the north metro of the Twin Cities, The Dwelling Place is able to serve up to 57 women and children at a time. It feels nearly impossible to steady ourselves after experiencing a pandemic, social unrest, contentious elections, natural disasters, and economic crises. We don’t stay joyful and hopeful in the midst of overwhelming circumstances. Instead, we get exhausted trying to control them. We just want to stop, rest, and catch our breath. What if that’s exactly what God wants us to do, too? We can recover hope and joy when we learn to stand still and WITNESS WHO IS WITH US. With is a tiny word, but it packs the power to bring us the peace we long for.

Sarah Arthur serves Northwestern as Assistant Dean of Graduate, Online & Adult Learning. Her passion for supporting non-traditional learners in both early college and adult education was born out of a non-traditional life. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Counseling, specializing in marriage and family. She also serves as a writer and speaker for Parent Relations, helping others make the transition to parenting adults. In addition to her professional role, she enjoys investing time writing, supporting the Twin Cities arts community, and adding to her collection of travel experiences in national parks.

Dr. Jacqueline Glenny has taught at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul for over 20 years. She has a master's degree in Business Communication and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. At the University of Northwestern, Glenny teaches all levels of public speaking, business communication, gender and family communication, and communication careers.

Circumstantial vs. Kingdom Joy - A Biblical Perspective

Join Peter Kapsner as he unpacks Circumstantial vs. Kingdom Joy from a biblical perspective. Through Peter’s conversational and humorous style, he establishes framework of the biblical joy, while giving real and current applications. In this workshop, Peter engages and addresses questions from cultural behaviors to generational ramifications and the Proverbs 31 woman. Peter, shares how to navigate these waters to abide in Kingdom joy that God wants us all to experience!

Peter Kapsner

Peter Kapsner is a Lecturer in the Christian Ministries Department and holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology from University of Edinburgh and M.Div. from Bethel Seminary. He is a business owner and has served as a pastor in a local nondenominational church. He is a radio show host and is a sought-after speaker on issues such as gender identity, marriage, and relationships. He has served as adjunct professor at Bethel University, Crown College, and Northwestern over the past 15 years with a specialization in connecting contemporary Christian social ethics with church history.

In this passion-lead workshop, Pastor David delves into characteristics of a Gospel Centered Community and how we can live and experience HOPE, JOY and PEACE. Through Pastor David’s teaching, you will grab hold of the important role our mindset plays in walking in the ways of Christ and how the decisions we make to follow Christ, despite our circumstances, are the true marks of a Christian. Rev. David R. Myles is an Adjunct Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at The University of Northwestern–St. Paul. He is co-host of, “The Monday Afternoon Mix with Myles, Arnold and Maxwell” on Faith Radio. His primary ministry is as the Life Groups & Leader Development Pastor at New Hope Church in New Hope, MN. He has a pastor-theologian heart and a passion for God’s heart through the Revelation 7:9 multiethnic church. He and his wife Tammy are the parents of three boys and a daughter. The most important fact about him: He is a grateful child and servant of God.

Crossing Over with Hope!

Hope gives us a continual reason for joy. In times of uncertainties, unknowns, unwanted changes, and ever-changing circumstances, it can seem impossible for us to have peace and remain joyful. This impossibility disappears when we remember that our joy and our peace does not come from outward circumstances but from inward strength. This message is designed to encourage with hope, joy, peace and the faith to cross over in challenging times.

Pastor Satise Roddy is a wife, mom and grand mom. She is an Ordained Minister, Author, Speaker, Mentor and Police Chaplain. She has served on the Set Apart Committee for 10+ years. Satise serves as Lead Pastor at Oasis Church in Minnetonka. She is founder of Satise Roddy Ministries, a speaking ministry. She also founded Destined Women, a women’s fellowship.

She is passionate about preaching the word of God and desires to see others walk in the freedom God has provided.
