Support Services at Servite High School are run by Ms. Lisa Barnard and made up of a dedicated team of professionals equipped and excited to assist Servite Students in finding academic success. The dedicated Support Services team works to support student learning through the Support Program with Accommodations as well as the Support Program without Accommodations. Servite High School is dedicated to meeting the needs of every young man on campus, and Support Services are designed to assist a wide range of students who will benefit from extra academic support.
The Support Program with Accommodations is for students with documented learning differences. Students will present their IEP, 504, or psychoeducational assessment to the Director of Support Services at a consultation meeting. During that time an Individualized Accommodation Plan (or IAP) is developed. The plan is signed by all parties and uploaded to Aeries for teacher access. The support services team checks in with students regularly to make sure the plan is being followed and that accommodations are being met. Students in the Support Program with Accommodations must opt into Tier 1, Tier, 2, or Tier 3 support.
Please reach out to Mrs. Lisa Barnard at lbarnard@servitehs.org to sign up for the Support Program with Accommodations and opt into Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 Support.
The Support Program without Accommodations is open to Servite students who do not have documented learning differences but are looking for extra academic support on campus. To enroll in the Support Program without Accommodations, students must opt into Tier 2 Support which provides students with an Academic Achievement class that gives them structured time throughout the school day to work on assignments and receive extra content-specific tutoring. The Academic Achievement Class also teaches students to develop executive functioning skills and establish effective learning strategies.
Please reach out to Mrs. Lisa Barnard at lbarnard@servitehs.org to sign up for the Support Program without Accommodations and opt into Tier 2 Support.
To be enrolled in the Support Program with Accommodations or the Support Program without Accommodations, a student must opt into one of the following support tiers.
TIER 1- $250 PER SEMESTER
• Open to students in the Support Program with Accommodations
• Regular consultation meetings with Support Services for academic coaching
TIER 2- $850 PER SEMESTER
• Open to students in the Support Program with Accommodations or Support Program without Accommodations
• *Academic Achievement Class
• Regular Consultation meetings with Support Services during Academic Achievement Class
• Students in Tier 2 who have documented IAPs will also receive testing in the library for less distraction and support for those with anxiety and take their finals in the library.
*Academic Achievement Class
TIER 3- $1,250 PER SEMESTER
• Open to students in the Support Program with Accommodations
• *Academic Achievement Class
• Regular Consultation meetings with support services
• Testing in the library for less distraction and support for those with anxiety
• Finals in the library
• *Algebra 1 Support Class with reduced class size
• *Geometry Support Class with reduced class size
Academic Achievement is a class designed to enhance executive functioning skills, provide work/study time, and connect students with small group, content-specific tutoring. This class can be very beneficial for students with diagnosed learning differences and those who are academically at risk. The first fifteen to twenty minutes of the class are utilized to present study strategies, organizational skills, and time management techniques. For the remaining time in the class, students are given time to work on assignments or study. The class is kept intentionally small at around twelve students. The teacher provides bi-weekly check-ins to review grades and assignments. The teacher encourages the students to use effective communication strategies to advocate for themselves with their teachers.
Academic Achievement is an excellent option for students who need extra support transitioning into high school.
*Algebra I Fundamentals Support Class
Algebra I Fundamentals is an algebra course with built-in accommodations and instructional techniques designed to support students in the Student Support Program with Accommodations. This course covers evaluating, simplifying, and factoring algebraic expressions, as well as understanding, writing, solving, and graphing linear and quadratic equations, and systems of two linear equations. Students will also work with radical and rational expressions and equations. The course emphasizes extending mathematical understanding and skills to solve real-world problems. This class is only open to students in the Support Program with Accommodations.
*Conceptual Geometry Support Class
Conceptual Geometry is a geometry course with built-in accommodations and instructional techniques designed to support students in the Student Support Program with Accommodations. The course will introduce students to geometric concepts such as shapes, volume, area, and trigonometry. Beyond that, the class covers properties of geometric figures, including triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons, and explores ideas like symmetry, similarity, and congruence. Students will develop a concrete and visual understanding of geometry and grow their abstract and conceptual thinking. This class is only open to students in the Support Program with Accommodations.
Servite High School is dedicated to providing students with a rigorous and formational academic experience. Servite truly believes every young man on campus has the potential to achieve great things and encourages students to achieve Mastery of Self in the classroom. Servite also believes in The Necessity of the Other and encourages students to seek support when they need it; therefore, Servite strives to offer many academic support systems to partner with and meet the needs of all students. Servite students who self-advocate and take advantage of the educational support on campus will be equipped to find academic success.
Throughout the school year, Servite offers academic support opportunities open to all students on campus. Parents/ Guardians will receive consistent communication concerning these opportunities. Servite believes in the importance of partnering with parents/guardians, so these communications will invite and encourage them to sign their sons up to attend.
Servite is dedicated to educational excellence as well as service, and members of Servite’s CSF (California Scholarship Federation) are required to meet tutoring requirements throughout the year. CSF is made up of Servite students who have achieved high academic marks, so they can be great resources, and peer-to-peer tutoring exemplifies the core charism of the Servite order—Service, fraternity, and devotion to Mary. Students can schedule a CSF (California Scholarship Federation) student tutor at any time throughout the year.
Servite also offers CSF Study Sessions at lunch during the first week of every month. Students will have access to a contentspecific teacher and CSF tutors to get extra help and support or study for coming assessments. Parents/Guardians will receive regular communication to sign their sons up for CSF Tutoring and CSF Study Sessions.
In the Servite Library from 7:00 am to 8:00 am on Monday-Friday, Mr. Mike Marshall runs Servite’s Student Success Program. This program aims to provide any student with a structured study hall, encouragement, and study tools, as well as help them develop a success plan that meets their individual needs and goals.
Students in the Student Success Program will have consistent contact with teachers and student tutors who are motivated to help. Students are also encouraged to stop by any time they need help or a space to catch up on work. Parents/Guardians will receive regular communication to sign their sons up for the Student Success Program.

The Servite High School Technology Program not only provides students the freedom to learn and master academic content through personalized instruction, but also forms students’ ethical understanding and application of technology which prepares them to meet the ever-changing technological demands relevant to higher education and the workplace.
Technology planning activities and budget decisions will reflect a long-range strategic focus. To the greatest extent possible, decisions will be made with an eye to the future and with an understanding that technology is only one component in achieving the school’s mission. Furthermore, Servite High School will not “adopt” a technology program; instead, Servite High School will “adapt” its technology program to authentically emulate real-world applications and technology advancement.
Each freshman will receive a new laptop computer, which will be hand-imaged with all necessary operating systems, software, and security. This device will be entrusted to his care for his duration at Servite High School. The laptop will be under warranty for four years. Aside from intentional or accidental damage, most repairs are fully covered and will not incur any additional fees.
This fee includes the use of a laptop computer and carrying case, imaging, and access to all online textbooks, interactive software, online resources, internet access, Microsoft Office, and applicable curriculum. These resources include Parent and Student Aeries Gradebook Portal Access, Google Classroom, Turnitin.com, and Grammarly.
All Freshmen will be required to complete the Servite Digital Citizenship Certificate when they receive their school laptop and Servite email account. Also, all freshmen will have a laptop/technology orientation at the beginning of the school year to review essential care, protocols, and login information. All international and transfer students will be required to attend a technology orientation.
Formation is the intentional, systematic direction of the complete student experience toward a development of the whole, unique person--body and soul. The entire process is centered on one insistent question: “Who are you?” Formation focuses on the development of character and virtue, inviting each student to become the man they have been called by God to be.
Alongside the primary influence of the parents, Servite Formation calls on faculty, coaches, staff, and alumni to fulfill each one’s unique, pivotal role in the Formation process. Formation is most effective when all members of the community model a common mission to challenge the will toward truth and encourage the development of the entire person.
It is the expectation of Formation that each student’s experience of every aspect of his life – home life, the classroom, athletics, arts, and friends – shapes him in the same consistent way. Whether it be through participation on an athletic team, retreats, an academic math class, or campus clubs, the Servite student continually encounters and interacts with the Formation process, specifically through the Formation Themes.
A student’s experience will be far more valuable if he is given a structure through which he is able to frame any situation, endeavor, or challenge that life presents. The following themes are intended to provide that structure in any context, both onand off-campus. They are not listed in order of importance; rather, each overlaps and must be interdependent with the others to be fully realized.
Life’s greatest and most important truths cannot be discovered by reason alone. We must accept that mystery exists and that life is a series of acts of faith, large and small. The most elemental act of faith is the belief that we possess a fundamental uniqueness that makes us who we are - unlike anyone else, past, present, or future.
The gifts that make us who we are reveal the unique vocation we have been given by God. By mastering ourselves and developing our gifts, we will make the world a better place in a way that no one else ever can. This is the fundamental responsibility that gives meaning and purpose to our lives.
An honest assessment of who we are reveals that we have limits and need others. Properly developing ourselves requires that we properly develop all the relationships that make us who we are.
There is one “other” we can never do without. God made us who we are and Christ brought us direct contact with God. Therefore, everything we do should be under Christ’s direction and modeled after him. We should note especially that Christ’s fundamental teaching is love as defined by mercy. This should be the measure of all our relationships.
The single most important element in the success of Servite Formation is a comprehensive campus climate that exposes each student to the person of Christ, drawing them to embrace Christ, love Christ, imitate Christ, live Christ, be Christ, so as to draw others to Christ.
This weekend is mandatory for all incoming freshmen and is the foundational experience for your son’s next four years at Servite. He will be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually as he bonds with his new classmates and embraces what it means to be a Servite Friar.
There will be mandatory parent/guardian meetings on Saturday, July 19 at 5:30 PM & Sunday, July 20 at 6:30 PM. These meetings will welcome parents and guardians to the Servite family and offer insights to help you support your son through his freshman year and beyond.
• Saturday, July 19 - Students check in at 5:45 AM and will be dismissed around 8:00 PM.
• Sunday, July 20 - Students arrive at 5:45 AM and will be dismissed around 9:00 PM. (6:30 PM Parent meeting followed by Family Mass and closing ceremony ending by 9:00 PM)
Please look for emails and letters in the coming months with more information!
The Department of Campus Ministry offers activities and programs to the school community that awaken faith and promote the values of fraternity, service, hospitality, and compassion as embodied in the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and the Order of Friar Servants of Mary.
We foster the search for God and develop a masculine spirituality through personal encounters with Christ.
We achieve our mission through daily prayer, liturgical worship, the celebration of the Sacraments, days of reflection, retreats, related spiritual leadership opportunities, spiritual direction, and Christian Service.
The spiritual life and identity of Servite High School are founded on the principles and traditions of the Servite Order. Founded in 1233, the Servite Order extends its traditions of service, fraternity, and devotion to Mary to the men of Servite High School.
All students attend a class in Catholic Theology. In this setting, students are challenged to examine and study the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church with an academic approach.
• Freshmen: Encountering Christ, the Word
• Sophomores: The Mission of Christ
• Juniors: Life in Christ
• Seniors: Critical Reflections
Liturgy
In our Masses and other liturgies, we give God the glory due His name and open ourselves to experience His transformation in our lives.
Each day includes Morning Prayer, the Angelus (before lunch), and Closing Prayer. We ask God’s blessings upon our work and ourselves.
The entire school attends Mass approximately twice per month on selected feasts of the Church and/or Servite Order. Professional Dress is worn for All-School Masses.
Each Advent and Lent, a communal Reconciliation service with individual confessions is scheduled for the whole school.
As Servants of Mary, we hold prayer services and celebrations throughout the year. Some examples include Praying the Rosary and the Seven Sorrows Rosary, an Advent Prayer Service, various celebrations of Our Lady, such as Guadalupe and Fatima, and more.
Masses and fellowship opportunities are held for mothers and fathers and their sons.
The culmination of the Servite Retreat Program is the KAIROS Retreat. This off-campus, overnight program for juniors and seniors is an intense experience that combines theological input, prayer, liturgy, spiritual reflection, interpersonal encounters and deeper growth in the bonds of the Servite brotherhood.
We hold Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Fridays. All members of the Servite community, as well as parents, are welcome to come for Daily Mass and for Adoration. Students of all faith traditions are welcome to participate in Campus Ministry activities.
Students are required to complete 25 hours or more of Christian Service each year.
Each Servite student completes and documents a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of Christian Service as a component of his graduation requirements. These activities should be chosen to benefit the civic community, church, and our school community. Christian Service education includes the following: A freshman assembly to introduce the program, local resources and
service opportunities, reflection on Gospel teachings about service and written exercises which apply church teachings to the experience of serving others. Excursion opportunities to sites of ministry will be periodically offered. Using a platform called MobileServe, students can easily track and verify their hours. Our goal is not for students to “check the box” for service so they can graduate, but to live out our very name, Servite, which means servant!
Priory is a student leadership program that primarily revolves around a bi-weekly priory period occurring in the middle of the school day throughout the year. These periods involve the entire student body and are led by 80+ sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are selected the previous year as Generals, Priors, and Assistant Priors.
The Priors and Assistant Priors are in charge of homerooms of roughly 25 students each. With faculty or staff present in the classroom, in a supporting role, the student leader is charged with the responsibility of leading and guiding his peers through various competitions and hands-on activities. There are sports tournaments, canoe races, sing-offs, talent shows, quiz bowls, communication and etiquette lessons, alumni visits, and special guest speakers. Many of these competitions are scored and ranked to determine the winner of the Priory Cup at the end of the year.
Primarily, the priory periods function as a sort of “dress-rehearsal” for the Formation Themes at Servite. Each student is provided various opportunities to step up and lead or step aside for his brother to lead; in both cases, he is provided a container, or laboratory, to practice and experiment with Mastery of Self and Necessity of the Other.
By breaking the student body into smaller groups that are not based on grade level, common classes, sport or other extracurricular affiliation, the priory program brings students together that wouldn’t normally associate and, therefore, increases fraternity across campus. The group of 15 classmates that they begin with at Formation Weekend is selected carefully, with an eye towards diversity of interests and abilities, and remains intact through Priory all four years.
Boys tend to thrive in an environment with a healthy amount of fierce but friendly competition. The “heat of the battle” naturally draws them in and closer together. Priory offers a unique stage for competition in that it brings various abilities to bear (athletic, academic, artistic, etc.) and does so in an environment where play is for play’s sake--not tied to the usual pressures of high school competition.
Every spring, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors apply for 80+ leadership positions within the Priory Leadership Council for the next school year. Of those positions, one student will be elected by his classmates to lead the school as Prior General. Those leadership positions will then be assigned to help lead 8 different Priories of about 100 students each. These Priories are made up of the entire student body and are named after Servite’s Seven Holy Founders (Alexis, Amideus, Bonajuncta, Bonfilius, Hugh, Manettus, and Sostene) and one of its principal saints, Philip.
The Campus Store is located on the Founders Walk, just inside the main gate. Our store features Servite spirit apparel for our community. The store hours change depending on the time of year, so please check the store website for the most up-to-date information.
Her Servants’ Closet (HSC) is a student-run service organization with a mission to provide Servite students in need with a way to obtain uniforms at either a lower cost or no cost. Servite families donate unneeded and outgrown uniforms, giving these uniforms a second life with another Servite student. To preserve privacy, families receiving tuition assistance are invited to set up individual appointments to “shop” Her Servants’ Closet for needed items by appointment only. Information will be provided to students who receive tuition assistance about how to schedule an appointment later this spring. Questions may be directed to hsc@servitehs.org
Approved Servite white long sleeve professional dress shirt, official school tie, and PE gear are all sold by our third-party uniform provider, Vicki Marsha Uniforms. Please go to their website www.vickimarsha.com and click on Servite High School at the bottom of the home page. Follow the link for Freshmen.
Students may wear black, khaki, or grey pants or shorts with a black or brown belt with a traditional buckle. Students must wear a Servite branded polo shirt. No denim, cargo, or sweat style pants allowed. Only athletic or leather/canvas style shoes may be worn.
Students will wear a long sleeve white dress shirt, official Servite tie, black dress pants, black dress belt, black socks, and black dress shoes.

Trinitas Arts Conservatory (TAC) is Servite High School and Rosary Academy’s award-winning after-school theatre arts program.
Trinitas, the Latin word for Trinity, not only gives us our Catholic identity but illustrates our continued mission to develop our students personally, artistically, and spiritually. It also gives a nod to “3”, as Tri-School Theatre’s history and students will never be forgotten, but instead remain part of our rich history and our program’s future.
Mission Statement
Building on the legacy of Tri-School Theatre, and striving to focus on the student personally, artistically, and spiritually, Trinitas Arts Conservatory (TAC) is an educational theatre ministry dedicated to arts advocacy in the greater community, nurturing both the artist and the individual, and developing our students’ God-given talents through process-oriented training in a Christ-centered environment.
Philosophy
Through the philosophical, financial, and educational commitment of the administrations of Rosary Academy and Servite High School, Trinitas Arts Conservatory is a model of cooperation and support for the value of arts in education. TAC is committed to nurturing the individual gifts of each student in a community that recognizes that an individual’s talents are a gift from God and are to be shared with others in a spirit of gratitude. Although Trinitas Arts Conservatory strives to maintain the highest standards for performance and production quality, the focus is on the process of educating the student. While studying the skills of acting, musical theatre, movement, vocal technique, improvisation, playwriting, directing, and stagecraft, Trinitas Arts Conservatory students learn life skills such as critical thinking, leadership, and responsibility through discovery, collaboration, and affirmation in a process-oriented, Christ-centered environment.
Overview and Activities
MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS
We produce two shows a year, which allow students to participate in a variety of productions as cast or crew members. Freshmen are welcome in all productions.
CONSERVATORY CLASSES
Students may enroll in our Conservatory program which meets on select Thursdays at Servite. We offer year-long noncredit classes in Acting and Tech, as well as a number of electives throughout our Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions (Musical Theatre, Stage Management, Dance, Make-Up, Costume Design, Cabaret, and Musical Theatre Scene Studies). Our year-long classes offer a comprehensive educational program and students who choose to may advance from Acting I/ Beginning Tech to Acting II/Intermediate Tech and Acting III/IV/ Advanced Tech over the course of four years.
CALIFORNIA STATE THESPIAN FESTIVAL
Each year, we attend the CALIFORNIA STATE THESPIAN FESTIVAL. Students from all over the state come together to share their love of theatre. The weekend includes workshops, Thespys auditions, auditioning for PLAYWORKS and both the Opening and Closing numbers. Tech students are encouraged to interview for crew positions as well.
For students with comedic aspirations or an overactive funny bone, the Comedy Sportz: High School League Team is open for people who think they are funny or want to be funny—we’ll teach you! The team “competes” in performances of improvisational games learned at practices, and it’s fun for all! This non-competitive performance emphasizes ensemble and confidence. Our matches are on select Fridays at Servite High School or Rosary Academy. Team practices are held on Fridays throughout the year. Freshmen are welcome on the team.

The generosity and dedication of Servite’s community of parents, alumni, faculty, coaches, and friends has been instrumental in establishing the school as one of the nation’s leading Catholic high schools for young men. As a private school, Servite receives no government support and relies on tuition, endowment earnings, and donations to cover operating expenses.
The Advancement Office is responsible for cultivating support for the school’s operating and capital needs. Fundraising efforts are coordinated by our department and focus on three critical areas:
The Annual Fund helps pay for the Formation program, classroom equipment and technology, faculty professional development opportunities, and financial aid programs. It helps Servite attract and retain a talented and committed faculty and provides support for extracurricular activities, clubs, and arts initiatives as well as other programs. Like other private schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Servite education. We rely on the generosity of our community to help provide the “Servite Difference.”
Gifts to Servite’s Endowment Program support the long-term needs of the school. Endowment gifts are placed into a permanent fund, where your gift is invested and compounds with interest and dividends for Servite High School. Endowment contributions are tax deductible and can be made in the form of cash, appreciated stocks/bonds, life insurance, real estate or personal property, or by naming Servite High School as a beneficiary of your estate plan.
In partnership with Parent Community Council, the Alumni Association and other groups, the Advancement Office coordinates a variety of special events each year to raise needed funds and build community. These include the Servite Fashion Show, Excellence in Leadership Dinner, and the Servite Open Golf Tournament.

The Marketing & Communications Department collaborates with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the communities we serve to ensure that Servite High School’s tradition and brand is portrayed accurately, respectfully, and in alignment with the charism of the Servite Order.
At Servite, we recognize the Necessity of the Other—our community thrives when we share our stories and experiences with one another. We ask our Servite community to be active members by sharing their stories and being advocates for Servite High School, ensuring that all those who are interested can stay connected. If you have news or a story to share, please contact servitecommunications@servitehs.org
All clubs, sports teams, and departments are required to follow Servite’s Branding Guidelines. As representatives of Servite High School, all programs uphold a high standard and should reflect the school’s professionalism and values. Every participant represents Servite High School and the Servite Order first, with their specific activity coming second. To maintain a consistent and professional image, Servite High School has established guidelines for logo usage, including design, placement, color, and size. Use of the Servite logo is not permitted without approval by the Marketing & Communications Department.
