RECOMENDACIONES º Los inhaladores presurizados, nebulizadores y dispositivos de polvo seco pueden ser adaptados para su utilización en pacientes con asistencia respiratoria mecánica.
º Los inhaladores requieren de adaptadores para conectarse al circuito de ventilación. º El tipo de adaptador, así como su ubicación en el circuito, influyen en la eficiencia de la administración del fármaco. º La ubicación del nebulizador (neumático o ultrasónico) en el circuito (rama inspiratoria o pieza en Y) también influye significativamente en su eficiencia.
º Dispositivos de polvo adaptados han sido utilizados en línea con el circuito, aunque su eficiencia clínica debe estudiarse más profundamente.
