UPCOMING ENTERTAINMENT AT SENECA CASINOS: SEPTEMBER 2012 UPDATE NIAGARA FALLS and SALAMANCA, NY – With the fall season fast approaching and winter not far behind, Seneca Casinos has filled out its Bear’s Den Showroom schedule for November and announces upcoming holiday shows at each of its Events Centers. Coming to the Bear’s Den are classic pop-rock singer Dennis Tufano, folk-rock group John Hiatt & the Combo and psychedelic rock group The Grass Roots. Country icon Brenda Lee will perform five holiday shows from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 at Seneca Allegany Events Center, and longtime Las Vegas–based singer and entertainer Wayne Newton will perform seven Christmas-themed shows from Dec. 5 to 9 at Seneca Niagara Events Center. Dennis Tufano, known as the “original voice” of The Buckinghams, comes to the 440-seat Bear’s Den Showroom for an 8 p.m. performance on Saturday, Nov. 10. Tickets start at $40 and are on sale now. The Buckinghams were a powerhouse pop-rock band in the 1960s with hits such as “Don’t You Care,” “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” “Susan” and the No. 1 hit “Kind of a Drag.” Billboard magazine named the group “The Most Listened to Band in America,” which led to television appearances on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Smothers Brothers’ Comedy Hour,” “American Bandstand” and other teen favorites. One of America’s most respected and influential singer-songwriters will perform at the Bear’s Den Showroom with his band on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. Tickets to see JOHN HIATT & the Combo start at $65 and are on sale now. Hiatt’s songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt (“Thing Called Love”), Iggy Pop, Rosanne Cash (the No. 1 country hit, “The Way We Make A Broken Heart”), the Jeff Healey Band (“Angel Eyes”), Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt and others. He was recently honored with a star on Nashville’s Walk of Fame and also earned the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting.
