Your Company Logo and Tagline Here Sample Newsletter 1. A Self Care Article In healthcare, declining retention is extraordinarily expensive. The cost of turnover at one major medical center represented a loss of more than 5 percent of the total annual operating budget, according to an article in Health Care Management Review.Monster.com Compdata surveys and consulting reports that healthcare turnover is 17 percent and higher with a rising trend seen in 2014 and 2015 and projections for this trend to continue. The survey revealed through employee exit interviews that the work-

life balance is a top factor leading to voluntary turnover. If an organization's culture produces a high turnover rate, the result is excessive recruitment and training costs. Research shows that employers spend up to 30 percent of the average employee annual salary for each turnover. This means for every position that pays $10 an hour, it could cost around $3,000 to hire and train someone new. Self Care is a lifestyle, not an event Self Care defines the comprehensive way we manage stress. Many people believe that Self Care is a one-time event such as a vacation or a massage or venting frustrations to a friend. These are Self Care events but they do not embody a lifestyle of Self Care because they don't last. Once you are back in the stressful situation, the stress returns.
