Her latest book, The World beyond Europe in the Romance Epics of Boiardo and Ariosto (2013), won the Modern Language Association’s Scaglione Publication Award. She published two books of criticism on Boiardo, Ariosto and Tasso. She has served as the Italian literature editor of The Literary Encyclopedia since 2008. Patrizio Ceccagnoli is an Assistant Professor of Italian at the University of Kansas, where he has taught since 2014. Previously, he taught Italian at University of Massachusetts Amherst, Fordham University, and Columbia University, where he received his PhD in 2011. Ceccagnoli is the editor of Filippo Tomaso Marinetti’s previously unpublished poem, Il Poema di Fiume, as well as of the first edition of Marinitti’s novel Venezianella e Studentaccio, in collaboration with Paolo Valesio, a project for which Ceccagnoli was nominated for the Marino Moretti Award. He received a PhD in Philosophy and text Sciences at the University of Siena. He published essays on Petrarca, Hrabal, Hoffmann, Camus, Char, Baudelaire, Hölderlin, Bloch, De Angelis. He edited works by Albert Camus and Jean-Paul Sartre. His books of poetry include Sorteggio (Marietti, 2012). Alberto Comparini is a PhD student in Italian Studies at Stanford University. He primarily works on 20th century Italian literature from a comparative perspective. He published Iride. L’Alcesti di Montale (new edition Ladolfi Editore, 2014) and La poetica dei «Dialoghi con Leucò» di Cesare Pavese (Mimesis, 2016), as well as many essays on Giorgio Caproni, Carlo Levi, Cesare Pavese, and Eugenio Montale. Michele de Luca (Pitelli, La Spezia, 1954) lives and works in Liguria and Rome where he teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts. An artist and poet, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, working thereafter as a scenographer for theater and film. His work has been displayed in galleries, foundations and museums in Italy and abroad, in addition to being included in reviews of visual poetry and artists’ books. He also published works of poetry.
