Pre-teach key vocabulary with visuals and clear explanations. Connect new concepts to prior knowledge and background.

Step 2: Practice in a Safe Space

Support students’ practice with modeling, visuals, and graphic organizers that help them process language at their proficiency level.

Step 3: Confidence to Engage with Peers

Through modeling, sentence starters, and guided interaction, English Language Learners gain confidence and skills to participate fully in classroom discussions and group work.

The Seesaw platform is available in Spanish, French, and Portuguese, perfect for dual language programs and supporting newcomers as they develop foundational language skills.

Exploring phenomena across topics in Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Engineering, students investigate scientific questions, make observations, and construct scientific arguments using evidence.

Students engage with narrative and informational texts to practice and apply reading comprehension skills, such as asking and answering questions, making inferences, and comparing and contrasting.

Through inquiry-based activities, students explore culturally relevant topics in economics, geography, government, and history to make connections to real-world experiences and issues.
