The Visionary is a teen magazine made by teens. 8th Grade A from See-Saw Panamby Bilingual School, São Paulo, Brazil were introduced to a project where they had to write articles, reviews, and other texts that would compose the magazine.

We had originally thought of the name Chatter Box, but it sounded like a place where people could talk with each other. So after a few ideas we decided on The Visionary.

3 groups were formed, the editors, the marketing team and the designers. Editors corrected texts, marketing would create a page on social Medias, and the designers took care of the looks of the magazine. We had a great chance to work by ourselves, and to know a little better the people we’re working with. I think I speak for all people when I say; BEST PROJECT EVEEEEER!!!

BRITISH ARE DUMB The British Broadcasting Corporation is the UK’s public-service broadcaster headquartered at Broadcasting House in London. It is the world’s oldest national broadcasting organization and the largest broadcaster in the world, with over 20000 staff in total.

The British media has also been known for pulling April fool’s pranks, and amazingly, many British fall for them. The most popular prank involving BBC is about planetary alignment, on April 1st of 1976.

According to the BBC website, an astronomer called Patrick Moore, who worked on a BBC radio, gave listeners some false information; he said that at 9:47 am, Pluto and Jupiter would align in such a way that would temporarily reduce Earth’s gravity. Moore told his listeners to jump exactly at that time to experience a once-in-a-life-time experience.

At 9:48, callers flooded the lines to describe how they had briefly floated. A woman said: “Yeah! I was eating

Stephen William Hawking was born on January 8th, 1942. He is an English theorical physicist, cosmologist. Mr. Hawking suffers from a rare early-onset, slow-progressing form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis that has gradually paralyzed him over the decades.

In the university, when he lost the writing abilities, the physicist Werner Israel helped him.

After a while he couldn’t speak anymore and he initially used his eyebrows to choose letters on a spelling card. But then he received a computer program called the Equalizer from Walt Woltosz.

After lots of configurations, he could produce 15 words a minute.

Hawking extended the singularity theorem concepts first explored in his doctoral thesis. The theory said that the Universe might have started as a singularity.

In 1970 Hawking postulated what became known as the second law if black hole dynamics, that the event horizon of a black hole can never get smaller. With James M. Bardeen and Brandon Carter, he proposed the four laws of black hole mechanics an analogy with thermodynamics.

Stephen Hawking created a special chair which speaks the words that he is thinking by detecting the movement of his eyes. He released many books about his life, achievements, and theorems. He also released a series of movies to explain his life.

How to survive in the woods If you are ever lost in the woods here are a few steps to make sure you will survive on your own.

How to get the Perfect Manicure If you want to get the perfect manicure there are a few steps that might help you.

There are some things needed to have a salon quality nail done at your home and they are a nail polish, nail polish remover, cotton swags, nail clippers, cuticle remover, nail moisturizer, cuticle pusher, base coat, nippers and clear top coat.

The first step you need is to shape your nails, if necessary clip your nails, but if you are with dry nails it is better to soak them before, this way they don´t splitter. After gently file them into a slightly rounded nail shape or square rounded edge, your nails will be beautiful and like the salon´s.

Second you will prepare your nails to remove the cuticles. To do this you will soak your nails again but this time add to the water a bit of a gentle face cleanse3r, doing this soak time, will avoid demerging skins and nails. The ideal time to keep your hands in the water is to 3 minutes or less. It is recommended to apply a cuticle remover before cutting away the thickened skin around the nail.

The third step is after applying and removing the cuticle remover, use a cuticle pushing tool and very gently push it back away from the nail, be careful when you push it or it can damage your nail growth or fray the cuticles. Removing cuticles too much is bad, they help to protect from bacteria and damages.

The fourth step is to moisturize.

Use a rich cream or silky oil into the cuticles and hand to hydrate and replenish your skin. You can either make the cream at your house using the recipe of your choice or buy it which is easier but you won´t do it all at home.

The fifth step is to prepare your nails before you polish them. To prevent the polis from adhering in the wrong way, moisturize your nails again with a bit of the cream left and to make sure that there isn´t any residue use a cotton with nail remover.

The sixth step is to paint your nails. Before applying the polish use a base coat so your nails won´t break.

Use the polish of the color you like and apply it again followed by the base coat, this way it will dry faster and your nails will shine just like in a salon.

The seventh step is to keep it beautiful. Everyday use a cream and a sunscreen to keep your nails and hand hydrated, they will look delicate and beautiful with fewer steps after some time.

So in just a few steps you can get a manicure that looks like a salon´s manicure but not having to leave your house and spending less money with things you can use more than one time and not having to pay every time you will use it.

You can definitely get a brilliant manicure doing it yourself, if you have the right tools lined up and you use the right techniques.

Charlie Charlie: Meet the story behind the fear The Charlie Charlie challenge is a tag that went viral in just a few days.

It is the story of a boy called Charlie that loved to play games. One day, his parents found him dead, and since that day every time they said “Charlie Charlie are you there” a pencil would move. So they put the pencil on top of a pen, and the pen on top of a paper sheet. On the four corners of the paper they wrote YES and NO. They asked him a question beginning with “Charlie Charlie”, and he would answer by moving the pencil.

And that’s how the tag works, you ask him a question and he answers by moving the pencil to a YES or a NO. Many youtubers have been making videos about this tag, joking that it’s actually real, and people have believed it.

So they tried it out too.

Celebrities help charity institutions over lunch On September 17th, 2014, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were having lunch in New York City, surrounded by paparazzi.

They decided to turn that into an opportunity to help charity institutions. They got two brown paper bags from the restaurant and wrote messages on them.

Emma's bag said "We just found out that there are paparazzi outside the restaurant we were eating at, so ... Why not take this". After the sentence there was an arrow pointing to Andrew's

paper bag.

On Andrew's paper bag it was written: "...

Ozone layer is thickening after years of depletion The ozone (O3) layer that protects the Earth from cancer inducing ultraviolet solar rays is showing signs of recovery because of the fault of CFC gases, from an UN study.

CFC gases used to be produced by aerosols and household appliances. They were harmful to the ozone layer, therefore opening a big hole on it. Scientists say the recovery is due to the elimination of these gases onto the atmosphere in 1989.

This also prevented over two million cancer cases in South America and Antarctica.

The hole that is createdon the ozone layer every year inAntarctica has also stopped growing.

Scientists say it will take a couple of decades for it to

restore itself completely.

“International action on the ozone layer is a major environmental success story. This should encourage us to display the same level of urgency and unity to tackle the even greater challenge of tackling climate changes”, says WMO secretary general Michel Jarrawd.

Though scientists can’t be certain if the hole will heal itself.

Dr. Jen Jucks from the U.S. space agency NASA said: “humans have started to do the right thing in order to convert the atmosphere back towards what it was before the Industrial Revolution started”.

The Earth's ozone layer protects all life from the sun's harmful radiation, but human activities have damaged this shield. Less protection from ultraviolet light will, over time, lead to higher skin cancer and cataract rates and crop damage.

The U.S., in cooperation with 190 other countries, is phasing out the production of ozone-depleting substances in an effort to safeguard the ozone layer.

He created a little community that respects and loves Nature, but his project was very little in the beginning. Thousands of tourists went to his village, Mandaripur, to see the beauties, and the life of people who lived there got better.

They created a famous community that practices ecotourism. All the money they have earned is used to make the village of Mandaripur a better place, to live and to take care of Nature. Now people from the whole country have better food, houses, schools, cities. Now they have a much better place to live. All this begun with a dream, with a dreamer: my friend Pahamed.

Virtual Reality Can Make You Forget Pain Technology can be used for medicine, math, and many other knowledge fields you can possibly imagine. On 28th of February of 2015, neuroscientists created what might be the solution to all surgery pain, something that looks like a big glass screen. It is a screen put in your face that works as an anesthesia to the whole body while you are at surgery, making it relieve the pain. Hospitals are already trying it out on some patients that have problems with surgeries.

It works because the pain relies on how the brain processes the information, so if you are distracted the pain will be mostly or totally relieved. It has already been proved that some people who have chronic neck pain and used this screen had their pain reduced.

But even though it relieves the pain, when they put it on, they feel a huge pain.

In this screen you can play games, access the internet and many other things. This screen only works if you do something in it while you are in the surgery, but if you don´t it will be like it always had been without them, and they make hospitals use less syringes and anesthesia.

Many people that use this screen play games, since it is mostly recommended, and while playing you are more distracted form the surgery and focused on the game. Many people that tested this screen of glass and played games became great players. For example in a game called Snow World, a game created for these patients to test the screen, has as its best player one patient. He is called Sam Brown; he was a lieutenant who during his first tour to Afghanistan, in 2008, suffered of third degree burns over 30% of his whole body.

Pax East 2015 exceeding expectations The PAX team in Boston, USA, organized PAX East 2015, which happened from March 6 until March 8, to entertain the game fans.

The event had free consoles to play different games. The most famous among them were: League of Legends by Riot Games, Minecraft by Mojang (bought

by Microsoft) and Overwatch

by Blizzard. The cheapest tickets were sold at US$ 37.00.

PAX was doing a project called Empty Box in which books and games were donated and the goal was to reach US$ 10,000 that was donated to a charity.

According to PAX’s Q&A - Question and Answer -

to avoid lines people should have been there at 10:45 am. The place had free WIFI. Swag bags would be distributed in the entrance queue at 11:30.

People could park in an onsite parking which was open from 6 AM until midnight.

Designer Clothing to Cancer Patients Bethany Heinrich, Executive Director and Co-Founder of fashion oriented Fashion & Fighting, created a charity with the fashion industry to provide designer clothing and accessories to women that are cancer patients from New York City.

The charity started in the end of 2014, but the project’s ideia has existed since 2008. Bethany Heinrich got the idea of doing Fashion & Fighting to help the fight against cancer, which had always been her dream because when she was little she lost her brother due to a disease and a few years later her mother was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Unlike other cancer charities, hers has the focus of maintaining the patient selfconfident and positive to fight against it.

The clothes they donate to the patients come from sponsors and sometimes celebrities which agree to help. The clothes are distributed on pop-up stores staffed with the items.

In these stores there are volunteers that help the patients choose and find items they like.

Fashion & Fighting organizes events at least two times a year and it will continue to be like this. Bethany accomplished her dream but now she has a new one; she wants to provide clothes not only for women, but for men and children, and expand the charity to the whole country and even to the world.

Mesut Ozil Donates World Cup Award The German Mesut Özil donates World Cup award for performing surgeries in Brazilian children. 23 children will be benefited from the world champion money.

Mesut Özil, who recently lifted the World Cup with the German team, denied recent rumors that he would donate his prize to the Gaza Strip, who lives currently in conflict.

However, the fate of his donation is no less commendable. The Arsenal player revealed he would donate his share of the prize to a Brazilian social project, and finance the surgery of 23 underprivileged children in Brazil.

The project in question is the Big Shoe, which collects

donations via internet to perform surgery on poor children, unable to afford the surgery.

Before the Brazil world team contention, Özil said he would benefit 11 children, but he increased that number to 23, one for each player championing Brazilian soil.

"Dear fans, before the World Cup I made 11 surgeries possible for sick children. Since winning the Cup was not due to eleven players, but the whole team, I will now increase the number to 23 surgeries. This is my personal gratitude for the hospitality of Brazilian people.” He announced on his profile on the social network Facebook.

Mosquitoes can now save us from mosquitoes!

Who let the mosquitoes out?

In Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, the English company, Oxitec, released on March 2nd, 2015 genetically modified mosquitoes to decrease the number of dengue.

There are three steps to modify the mosquitoes Aedes aegypt. First, they researchers released a gene into the mosquitoes before the larva stage. The second stage is to cultivate the eggs in a science lab and the insects that are modified are identified with a florescent marker. The third and final step is to release the male mosquitoes into the nature and wait for them to mate with the females that inhabit

that region.

The baby mosquitoes that were with the modified male will not survive.

OMS said that almost 20 thousand people die because of dengue.

The English company, Oxitec also tested the mosquitoes in some cities of Bahia, Sao Paulo and it worked. The number of mosquitoes decreased by 90%.

The mosquitoes that are released do not bite people. They tested the mosquitoes by putting them into a jar and then they put a scientist’s hand into the jar.

The mosquitoes did not bite and nothing happened to the scientist’s hand.

Scientist finds the cure for AIDS in monkeys th

On February 17 2015, scientists in S達o Paulo, Brazil, discovered that a vaccine that they created to kill the HIV virus (AIDS) had effect in the monkeys they had tested on.

This group from the University of S達o Paulo used the technology and their knowledge to create and test this vaccine. The whole research was made to help people with AIDS, since this study becomes more in depth and has better research, one day the scientists expect them to work not only on monkeys but also on humans.

P.E.T.A.R – A GREAT ADVENTURE BETWEEN ROCKS We recently visited the park PETAR (Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira) and many of us had different opinions. Some people enjoyed it, some didn’t, and many had varied thoughts about the things to do there.

In PETAR there are many caves to visit. The most popular amongst them was “Água Suja”. Most of us enjoyed it, since it was a very entertaining cave with lots of water, though a couple didn’t enjoy the cold water.

There were long walks to reach the caves, and many people didn’t enjoy them, since they were very tiring. But we all thought it was worth it, since every cave is different and fun in their own way.

The cave of Santana had amazing formations, and all of us agreed on this. There was the bacon curtain, the horse rock and the stalagtittie. It was a deep cave, and the perfect example of the difference between the city and the country, because of the silence.

Our least favorite cave was Couto, because it was narrow and didn’t have much to see. It had a very beautiful exit though. Morro Preto had a huge entrance and was very extensive. It had beautiful formations, and had some tough climbs, just like Santana.

Overall, we had a lot of fun there, and we hope you will too.

Pitch Perfect Pitch perfect also features Sylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee and Adam DeVine. Rebel Wilson also performed in another movie, Night of the Museum 3 and her performance wasn't as good as her acting in Pitch Perfect. In Pitch Perfect she was really funny for example: when she introduced herself she said that her name was Fat Amy. The plot is about a girl named Beca who goes to Barden University and she makes a deal with for her father: if she joins a club and still does not want to remain at college after one year, he will allow her to leave school and he will pay for Beca to move to LA to pursue her music career. She joins a Capella group, The Barden Bellas, and there goal is to win

Nationals. They make it to Nationals and compete against the Treblemakers, which is another Capella group of Barden University.

The best game in the world, League of Legends, is played by more than 60 million people.

League of Legends, most known as LoL by gamers, was created by Riot Games, being totally free. But it needs to be downloaded, and a password and username are required. It will probably take a couple of hours to get ready.

There are four different maps, and some additional content (other modes of game, like Ultra Rapid Fire or One for All) that are added for a limited time. The most played map is Sumonner’s Rift, which is a three-laned map; TOP lane, the MID lane, the BOT lane and the JG. It’s a 5v5 PvP, meaning that you play with other 9 players, 5 on your team and 5 on the other.

The second most played map is Twisted Treeline, a two laned map.

It has a Top lane, a BOT lane and a JG. This means it’s smaller, but not that it’s less fun.

The third and less played map is Aram, where you don’t get to choose your champion, and it has only one lane, but the objective keeps the same; destroy all the turrets and finally the Nexus, besides killing the enemy team.

The fourth map is a little different, for your objective is different; instead of destroying the turrets, you have to make it yours, and collect points by helping and killing.

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga was later adapted into a television anime, which was produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a teenager ninja who constantly searches for recognition and dreams to be the Hokage, the leader and the most powerful ninja.

He has difficulty to make friends because he has a "demon" that once attacked Hidden Leaf Village sealed inside him. When he passes the Ninja Academy, he is matched with two other Genin (low level ninja), called Sasuke and Sakura, and with their Jounin (high level ninja) sensei called Kakashi. The team goes in various missions and Naruto finds out that a criminal group called Akatsuki was after the demon inside him and to "bring peace" to the constant wars that occurred. But a ninja called Jiraya helps him and takes him in a 2-years trip so Naruto could get stronger to take care of himself.

A Channel or a TV program Iberê Thenorio reaches 3 million viewers For all of you that don’t know the channel in YouTube Manual do Mundo, it is one of the best channel in Brazil or even in the world, and lots of people views it, including one of his videos reached 1 million views, that is a lot, and not all channels have these number of views.

Manual do Mundo became so big in a point of even getting its own TV program are Fox or Discovery Channel. Its in show at the streets of São Paulo, and other cities here in Brazil and away from Brazil, or in the television commercials. This channel has 3.221.137 viewers, and it is one of the best channels in YouTube.

The presenters names are Iberê and Mari, that are married, and in Manual do Mundo they do experiments, pranks, and all of the material they use are cheap and easy to find, and they are mostly found inconstruction houses,or someof them in pharmacies.

Furious 7 The movie is full of action right from the beginning making it way more unreal then the other Fast and Furious. They took out the street races and those were the best part of the series. Instead of races there were cars jumping from buildings to buildings and also cars equipped with parachutes to drive of a plane. There was no way that a guy could push a woman from a moving truck to a car also moving, and she was able to grab it. That was too much! Wait, there is more, Brian (Paul Walker) runs on the top of a truck that is half on the ground and half falling off a cliff. He jumps and grabs on a moving car.

Should you play Assassins Creed Unity?

In the new game of the series, Assassins Creed Unity the gamer is stunned by how much the game is good.

As Ubisoft continuous the series of games it creates Assassins Creed Unity. Director Alex Amacio has surprised everyone with the game by creating a different scenery and plot to be played. The game includes the following platforms: Play Station 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows (PC).

The games plot and story is about a boy called Arno who as a child has his father murdered by Templars. As he grows he then discovers his father was an Assassin, and, following his father’s steps, he becomes one too and tries to discover why and by whom was his father killed. In the game famous characters happen to appear, such as Napoleon Bonaparte.

The gameplay inside the game is fantastic in some senses, since you can easily parkour throughout the city of Paris (France), but there are still some errors in the game, that you can pass sometimes next to a guard and he doesn’t even notice. But out of all errors there was something in particular that was really cool, the fighting inside the game is a lot more difficult making the game more realistic. Even though this part of the game is stunning, the game that came before Assassins Creed Black Flag was easier to fight but the movements through the scenery were worse.

So you should play Assassins Creed Unity, but if you are already experienced with fighting since it is a lot harder than you think. It is a fun game to play, plan tactics and parkour through the city.

Yoshiro Tagashi is a Japanese well known anime drawer that made many animes in his whole life, and together with the Nippon Animation studio Hunter X Hunter was born.
