Editor’s Letter

Hey Guys!

This magazine was made by 8thB from See-Saw Panamby Bilingual School. We created a magazine about entertainment with the purpose to call attention to teenagers who like to read about what is happening in the world.

We had thought about many other names, for example Ozogodos and Parclint.

Parclint almost became the name of the magazine but we came up with #G4I (go for it) and everyone agreed.

We were divided into three groups: Editing, Marketing and Design. Each group had to do something. Editing had to correct writings and put them into templates so that they would be ready to be in the magazine; Design had to make a logo and create the magazine design and the Marketing team had to find ways to market our magazine.

We tried to make #G4I the best Magazine of entertainment for teenagers, who like a world full of films, sports, TV shows, technology, decorations among other things and they can certainly find in our magazine.

Maria Cecilia Botelho See-Saw Owner

By Luiz Fernando Lorenzetti & Rafael Salonikios For our magazine, we interviewed the owner of See-Saw Panamby Bilingual School, Maria Cecilia Botelho, known as Ciça.

We asked her some questions about the school and her life and the answers were awesome, it was a very nice 30-minute interview.

She said educating children was her way to give something to the world, because her dad taught this lesson to her.

We asked her what her idea to create the school was, she answered that she wanted to make a bilingual school, maintaining the Brazilian culture and that is exactly what she has done.

Ciça also told us that coming to school is more than come, learn, make friends and go home, it is about respect.

Interacting with people and making students respect the teachers, each other and people who work in the school. According to her, this is the school’s way to do something for the common good.

She said she was very proud of people who studied there and now are in good universities.

She said that a big for her and the best achievement at See-Saw was going from Toddlers (2 to 3 year-oldchildren) until the first of High School, which started in 2015.

We asked what she thought about High School and she said she was very excited, she would try to change a little bit how students learn the subjects and face the future.

Something interesting we have found out about the school’s name. It’s called SeeSaw because people from other countries called her ‘Ci-çá’ then it became See-Saw. Last but not least, we asked her for a good topic she could recommend for our magazine.

She suggested writing about technology in schools, using tablets, computers and smart phones during classes. We took her advice into consideration and you can find some articles about these topics inside #G4I.

kidzania opens in Brazil

By Amanda Amorim Kidzania is the newest theme park at Eldorado Shopping Mall in São Paulo. It opened on December, 20th, 2014. It is for kids from 3 to 14 years old. The park allows kids to play real life role activities, for example they can be a doctor or a nurse. Some kids also prefer to be on a temporary job, such as an employee of a factory.

The ticket to enter costs $60 Reais for adults and $120 Reais for children, the price changes during the week. Adults are not allowed to participate in any activity, but they can be with their children if they want to.

The creator of the park is a Mexican businessman, called Lopés Ancona. He wanted to create a new place, where kids would enjoy themselves and learn at the same time. He thought about where kids go to play and have fun and how he could put these two things together and then he had the idea of the park. He had already

opened in Mexico and it became so popular that people from other countries were coming to Mexico just to go to the park. Because of this success, he also decided to open in other countries.

Through each ‘role’ and activity, children learn about how society works, financial education, teamwork, independence and skills in real life professions. Kids can be any professional.

Once they don’t want to work anymore, they can either use the money they earned working to buy souvenirs inside the ‘city’ or save it for the next time they come.

Some places they can work are: Stickers & Figurines, Advertising Agency, Kidzania Sports Arena, Driving School, Bank, Cartoon Drawings, Fire Department, Police Station, Post Office, Cooking School, University, Theatre School, Radio Station, Newspaper editing, Photography, Juice Factory , Pizza Factory, Chocolate Factory, Flower Shop, Hospital, Jewelry Shop and many others.

Karina Oliveira from São Paulo said: ‘’This is a great place for kids, they can experience different professions in only one day.

My son is 10 years old and he enjoyed the experience so much. The greatest thing he had learned is in order to buy something in the stores, he has to work and earn the money. He was a window cleaner, a surgeon, a firefighter and with the salaries he earned he paid for his driving course. The space is so big that we spent about 6 hours there and still could not finish all the professions. I suggest not to visit during school holidays or public holidays. We went during low season and there were some queues. My daughter is 6 years old, she didn't experience much because many things are not suitable for her. Maybe it is better for the schooling kids and not the preschoolers”.

By Carolina Hirschheimer Since 2013, Linda Dykes has been organizing a group of people who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), germ phobias, and other anxiety disorders characterized by intrusive thoughts, including Kristy, Cynthia, Hayley, Mark and Denise. The objective of this group is to clean, during the week, several cities in Great Britain. This attempt now has become a TV show, „Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners‟.

The OCD foundation assures that the cleaning and the contact to dirty places helps making the disease weaker.

That happens because the most effective treatment is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

In an interview Linda Dykes was asked if she thought the program inspired people to get their rubber gloves on.“I‟m

hoping it does. It doesn‟t cost a lot to be clean at all. If you clean your house, it might just stop you from getting ill! You never know!” she answered.

The Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners help cleaning from citizen‟s houses to public parks. Before the program, some of the „cleaners were so obsessed to get to the point of using two bottles of bleach per day.

The famous TV show is watched in more than 20 countries, such as England, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Germany and others.

For the ones who are interested in this show, it can be watched on Discovery Home & Health, channel 55, every Thursday at 9 pm.

Dance sisters donate money to charity

By Isabela Yunes Maddie (12) and Mackenzie (11) Ziegler, the sisters from the reality show Dance Moms on Lifetime Channel, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, were interviewed last week and said they really liked to donate their belongings, such as toys, clothes, and money. They travel somewhere every week. Wherever they are, they meet fans and earn tons of money.

Maddie said: “We like to raise money for charity, for example, we do lots of master classes, which are classes that we do all around the world. People buy tickets to meet us and learn from us.

We also do fundraisers for the Starlight Children‟s Foundation, which my sister and I are ambassadors for”. Mackenzie said: “Maddie and I did not have a Christmas list last year. We asked my mom if we could go shopping for the kids at the Children‟s Hospital”.

Along the year, they have meets and greet and all the money earned, they donate to charity. They also dance for sick kids in cancer hospitals. The other girls from the show, which are Kendall Vertes, Nia Frazier, KalaniHilliker, Brooke, Paige Hyland, Chloe Lukasiak and JojoSiwa also participate in the meets and greets and they donate a little money to charity too, but the Ziegler sisters are the ones who donate more.

Maddie does not only appear in Dance Moms, but has also participated in

two video clips from the Australian singer Sia Furler, which her single „Chandelier‟ has reached 14,000,000 views on YouTube the day it was released, because of Maddie‟s dance.

She has also performed „Chandelier‟ on the Ellen show and Jimmy Kimmel, wich are talk shows in the USA. She has also won the Grammy Awards for best choreography; best 2014 music video, best record of the year, and best pop solo performance. Maddie said: “Now, when I walk in the street people don‟t ask if I‟m Maddie from Dance Moms anymore, they ask if I am the girl from the „Chandelier‟ video, and I thought this video would never be that famous”. Sia Furler also donated half of the money she earned.

In December 2014, Mackenzie, who is also a singer, released her second single album. The music „It‟s a Girl Party‟ got thousands of views on YouTube. Right now, the Dance Moms cast is in Australia, meeting people and doing master classes every day.

Mackenzie also sang „It‟s a Girl Party‟ live at a meet and greet. The moms said that Australia‟s tour was the nicest one they have ever gone to, they earned a lot of money and donated plenty to charity.

With the growing of the population more forests and natural resources are being taken, so they need to produce more products for the population and for the industries that cause deforestation.

The removal of the trees results in damage to biodiversity, and also animal habitats loss. It also contributes to global warming, erosion, and desertification.

There are sometimes natural disasters, which can cause damage in the forests such as lightning that can also destroy many trees.

It happens when they construct farms for agriculture; when human takes the wood to construct buildings in urban places; to harvest timber to

create commercial items such as paper, furniture and homes; to create ingredients that are highly prized consumer items, such as the oil from palm trees.

A good solution for deforestation is to replace the young trees where the old ones were cut. The government can also create more forest preservations, where the amount of trees is getting lower.

The water crisis in São Paulo

By Luiz Fernando Lorenzetti The water crisis is not only related to Cantareira, but also to other reservoirs. In this article Cantareira is the main topic because it is the most affected and it is the largest water reservoir in São Paulo.

In December and January water and rain experts were expecting to dry out in 2 months.

But in two months the situation improved a little. This is happening due to the lack of rain in Sao Paulo since October.

Since July 2014, Cantareira system is not operating with its useful volume. São Paulo had never had such a terrible lack of water, so the population took a while to understand what was going on and change their mentality.

The water crisis is so huge that the 1st dead volume of Cantareira, the part not used by Sabesp to relieve the water crisis, had dried and now they are using the second dead volume! I know, you, who are sitting there, uninformed about the water crisis don’t believe that Cantareira is so huge and even has 2 dead volumes, but it is true.

Luckily, now it is raining more, so the situation will improve.

There are some curiosities about this situation.

In 2011, 4 years ago, Cantareira system was operating with 100% of its capacity and the minister of that time obliged to throw out water because the dams would break, but it was necessary.

Another thing is that, the lack of rain and water is not the only cause of the situation; the city could not predict that the population would increase so much, it jumped from 4.8 million people, in 1960, to 11.8 million in 2013. Sabesp loses about 25% of the water from the distributor to the houses and this loss can reach 31%, because of holes in the pipes of distribution. The dead volume used to relieve the crisis had never been used before.

I would like to say that we need to save water and realize how this is important and rare for us.

Nowadays, we not only need to know how to use it, but also use it wisely.

Humans are heartless, they don’t know dogs have feelings, that they are capable of loving you unconditionally and suffer a lot when they find out they weren’t loved back the same way.

“Dogs are better than people in my opinion,” said Ana Lucia Batista, an adoptive parent since her childhood. “I think dogs love more than people, they give much less work than humans usually give, and they can also be house guards”.

People keep saying that humans are rational creatures, with intelligence above any other creature of the world. But in fact, humans are not that intelligent, we can’t even feel sorry for that poor

Illegal and Danger!

By Mariana Niccheri Illegal wildlife trade is estimated to be a multibillion-dollar business involving the trade in live animals and plants or parts and products derived from them. Wildlife is traded as skins, leather goods or souvenirs; as food or traditional medicine; as pets, and in many other forms. Illegal wildlife trade can be prevented by protected forests to supply the things endangered animals would need, disguised ship to the illegal fishing of endangered marine life for food, and searching groups for the poaching of elephants.

However, wildlife in Himalayan region is suffering from illegal hunting and trade even after China has enforced the China Wildlife Protection Law (CWPL). Although domestic illegal trade has declined in the past ten years, international illegal trade and smuggling continue, and are even expanding, thereby threatening survival of many endangered species such as the Tibetan antelope (Pantholopshodgsoni), Giant panda (Ailuropodamelanoleuca) and Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug).

The global trade in illegal wildlife is a multibillion dollar industry that threatens biodiversity and acts as a potential avenue for invasive species and disease spread. Despite the broad-sweeping implications of illegal wildlife sales, scientists have yet to describe the scope and scale of the trade. Here, we provide the most thorough and current description of the illegal wildlife trade using 12 years of seizure records compiled by TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network. These records comprise 967 seizures including massive quantities of ivory, tiger skins, live reptiles, and other endangered wildlife and wildlife products.

There is a program on Home and Health channel, called ‘Hoarders’. It is a documentary that talks about people who are addicted to collecting things, keeping them inside their houses and accumulating a lot of trash.

These houses start to have a bad smell and it is also horrible to cook, bathe, work and even be inside it.

The more these people accumulate, the more the neighbors are bothered by the smell that can be felt inside their houses. Because of all this trash, most of the time, there are animals, such as rats and insects such as cockroaches, bugs and spiders and many others.

Beverly Mitchell, a 66-yearold hoarder who lived in Manhattan, Connecticut, got buried alive. The police found her in the basement of her house.

They concluded that she had died more than a week earlier. She was found by a postman who contacted authorities after spotting her letters piled up for more than a week.

Police officer Kevin O'Donnell said: "The floor fell down and collapsed into the basement. The contents of that room caved in on top of her”.

Mr. O'Donnell said: "It's unfortunate because we've tried all along to get her assistance, but she was a very private and solitary lady’.

As you can see from this short article, a hoarder can be very lonely, depressed and even socially isolated.

It was designed by Omer Haciomeroglu and written about in the popular industrial design blog Yanko Design. The firefighters have to go through many difficulties to rescue people, dogs, cats or any kind of living being, it is almost impossible to see within the highly dense smoke.

C-Thru’s vision system integrates many technologies to help firefighters, such as a head-mounted projection display, optical thermal camera, cloud computing, selective active noise cancellation and target acquisition. The optical thermal camera captures the images of the surrounding area and sends the data to the smoke diver leader’s handheld device. The data is calculated there and sent back to the helmet. Newly generated 3D wire-frame data is projected by the head-mounted projectors through the retro-reflective

front visor of the helmet. This wireframe outline of their surroundings helps firefighters find a path through the building and locate victims.

By Amanda Amorim The dramatic book ‘The book thief’, written by Marcos Zusak, became a great movie with the same name. It was based on the book, that was released in 2011, It was the book most should out in that year. The film represents real things that the people in the World War II were passing and also real life acts that people committed in that time, that’s why most of the movie makers wanted to make the film of the book. The movie ‘The book Thief’ won an Oscar in 2013.

The movie created by Brian Percival, represents the horrors of World War II, in Germany. The sentimental story is about the young Liesel, who is a little girl moving for a new home with her brother and mother. Inside the train, her mother and her brother died and she becomes an orphan. When she gets to her new foster parent’s house, she realizes that Germany wasn’t a good place to live in the middle of World War II. She tells her foster father that she doesn’t know how to read and he secretly teaches her. After a few months, she goes to school with her best friend Rudy, who is her neighbor.

She starts stealing books from people and sharing them with Max, who was a Jewish. He loves books and loves reading them with Liesel. .

The main actors of the film are: Sophie Nélisse, who plays Liesel, Geoffrey Rush, who plays Hans (Liesel’s foster father) Emily Watson, as Rosa (Liesel’s foster mom), Ben Schnetzer, as Max and NicoLiersh, as Rudy.

The writer of the book Marcos Zusak really wanted to write a book of what some people had to pass in World War 2. ‘’ I thought of writing a short story, telling what some kids had to pass in World War II, if they were Jewish, because my grandfather always told me how lucky he was for not being chosen for going to the Nazi army. I started writing a short story, but when I realized there were many things kids had to suffer, I decided to write a romance”, said Marcos Zusak.

I decided to make a review of ‘The book Thief’ because when I saw it I really enjoyed. It tells you what people who were living in the period of the World War II had been going through and I really felt sorry for them. One thing that I really liked was the way they show the reality of the wars and how people survived.

The film itself is sad, but it’s definitely worth watching!

By Carolina Hirschheimer The involving TV show talks about the enchanted forest and all of the fairy tails’ characters you might know, who were cursed to live in a city called Storybrook.

This curse was casted by the Evil Queen, which hated Snow White and her husband, Prince Charming with all her heart’s darkness. In their wedding day, she threatened the couple to cast a curse that would end all the happy endings. Some months later, Snow got pregnant and they had to do something to save their child from the curse. So, just after labor, they sent their little girl through a portal away from the enchanted forest.

One of the biggest curses ever casted sent all of the fairy tales characters to a city in the real world, called Storybrook. There, they all had different names and weren’t able to love their soul mates.

One day the adopted evil queen’s son, Henry Mills, goes after his real mother. Apparently, her name is Emma Swan, and, coincidentally, she is Snow White’s and Prince Charming’s daughter. Now, she is the savior, which means the one that can break the curse.

The show’s main characters are Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), who is called Mary Margaret in Storybrook, she is very sweet, lovely and cares about people around her. The Evil

Queen (Lana Parrilla), which is Regina Mills after the curse, this character is very powerful, strong and behind all the evilness at the same time she is also a loving mother and a good person. Then, we have the savior, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), she is also a strong, beautiful woman, but not really imaginative. Finally, we have Henry Mills (Jared S. Gilmore), a cute dreamer boy who fights for happy endings.

I am not a specialist on special effects, but in my opinion they are not awesome, you can see some failure. If you enjoy watching TV shows with great special effects, ‘Once Upon a Time’ might not be the best show for you. But if you are just like me and don’t mind about those things, I totally recommend it.

In my point of view, each episode is especial and really catchy; along them the viewers get really attached to the show and the characters. Dance Moms is an American reality television series that debuted on the channel Lifetime on July 13, 2011. Created by Collins Avenue Productions, it is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Abby Lee Dance Company and follows the early carriers of children in dance and show business under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller, the owner of the studio, as well as the participation of the dancers‟ mothers.

Until now, five seasons have been aired so far.

The dancing cast includes Maddie Ziegler, Mackenzie Ziegler, Kalani Hilliker, Jojo Siwa, Nia Sioux and Kendall Vertes. Their mothers, which are Melissa Ziegler, Kira Girard, Jessalyn Siwa, Holly Frazier and Jill Vertes, battle for their daughter‟s fame.

The show starts with Abby and her “pyramid”, which is a kind of classification of the best girls from the past week performance. The best stays at the top and the worst in the bottom.

If they perform greatly in the past week group routine, Abby gives them a solo. Every week, they compete with a group dance, that it can be jazz, acrobatic, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, tap, musical theater and Bollywood (a typical dance from India).

But everything is not always that easy for Abby and her dancers. Her rival Cathy, from the Candy Apples Dance Center, in Canton, Ohio makes everything more difficult, by annoying the ALDC, such as making them be mad and also talking bad things about Abby‟s dancers. Cathy has recently made a new team out of all of Abby‟s rejects from her competition show (Abby‟s Ultimate Dance Competition) and, consequently, those girls hate Abby.

The girls do not only dance, they are encountered to do acting jobs, music videos.

They also went to a lot of awards, such as Astra Awards (Australia), where they won the 2015 Kids Choice Awards for best TV show and they also went to the Grammy‟s.

Because of work they do in Dance Moms, there are great opportunities for the girls; for example, Maddie appeared in a Disney kid show called Austin and Ally, participated in a trilogy of music videos for the Australian singer Sia Furler, which includes the songs Chandelier, Elastic Heart, and Big Girls Cry. She also performed in Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen Show and Grammy Awards. The chandelier video was nominated for four Grammys and it won three. Maddie was called to appear on the TV show Pretty Little Liars, season 6. The teen rapper Matty B invited the girls to participate in his music video „Turn up the track‟.

Sometimes I get annoyed because the moms fight a lot, and that‟s not so entertaining, and also less interesting, they fight for not relevant topics, such as the competition make up, costumes, who should have a solo or who gets greater opportunities from the work they had done. I also think that Abby should be less tough and more polite to the girls and their moms. She makes them cry, she expels some girls from the group dance, and that‟s very unfair.

By Lucas Marinho The movie ‘12 years a slave’ is about a former slave called Solomon Northup, who is traveling without the letter that proved he was free from slavery. A farm owner, by mistake, captures and tortures him, so he would say he was an escaped slave.

When he was at the boat, he saw an African man, who had also been treated the same way he was being now.

One of his new friends was killed, because he disrespected the Capitan from the boat. He was whipped by the farm owner.

In my opinion, this is a good movie, because it really shows how slaves were treated.

The actors who stars are Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Kurt Russell, and Jason Statham, who are focused on acting with guns and cars.

The film follows Dominic Toretto (Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Walker), and the rest of their team, who have returned to the United States to live on their normal lives after securing for their past crimes in ‘Fast & Furious 6’.

However, Deckard Shaw, an assassin who searches for revenge of his young brother, put them in danger again.

The film shows the final scenes of Walker, who died in a car accident on November 30, 2013, when the movie was not finished yet. The movie makers rewrote some scenes and his brothers, Caleb and Cody, were used to complete his last scenes.

There was some computer editing, because they didn’t look exactly similar to Walker.

It was released first in Australia on April 2, 2015, and then in the United States on April 3, 2015, in 3D. It is the fourthhighest opening of all time. The movie has taken over $1.15 billion worldwide.

In my opinion, the movie has a lot of special effects, the computer changing of Walker was also good and the movie was well produced, even when there were all those difficult scenes to record.

There they have a meeting where they decide Frodo was going to lead the trip to Mordor, the darkness city, to destroy the ring that could only be destroyed where it was built, in Mordor by Sauron. Sauron was the dark king who created a ring that was going to be more powerful than the others.

Frodo and the others need to hide, fight and be brave until they get there. But before this Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) and Legolas (Orlando Bloom) are left by Frodo and Sam who decided to go by themselves.

The cast of the Lord of the rings 1 is very good, amazing actors who act on a fantastic story, but for me the best actors were Elijah Wood who played Frodo and Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas.

Their acting in the movie was specifically very good.

I enjoyed watching this movie and it is, by far, the best movie I have ever seen. I am very curious to see what happens to Frodo and his friends.

The movie is great, the actors are awesome and it’s also really realistic. A lot of funny scenes make people laugh so much. The plot is also great.

There is only one film but I believe the next will be as good as the first. I also loved the sound track of the movie. This film is recommended for people who like comedies and a cute romance, which is the base of the story. People should watch before judging it for being a national film. .

During a support meeting, Hazel meets a seventeen-year-old teenager boy, named Augustus Waters, who has bone cancer that caused him to lose his right leg.

One day, he invites her to go to his house. While they talk Hazel Grace tell her story about cancer, Augustus also tells his story, which leads them to books. Hazel´s favorite book is ‘An Imperial Affliction’, of Peter Van Houten and Augustus’ favorite one is ‘The Price of Dawn’. They exchange their books to read. As they are spending a lot of time together, Augustus sends an e-mail to Peter Van Houten, which was a surprise to Hazel.

Two days later, the author sends an e-mail inviting Hazel and two more people to go to Amsterdam to

talk about the book and how it should end. However, before she goes, she has a problem with her lungs. Hazel couldn’t breathe, her parents ran as fast as they could to the hospital and she got hospitalized for 3 days.

The medical team argues against the trip until Dr. Maria, one of the physicians most familiar with her case, convinced Hazel's parents that she should travel, because she needed to live her life.

When Hazel and Augustus first got to Amsterdam, they went to a restaurant and found out that Van Houten paid for their meal and champagne. Augustus then confessed his love for Hazel that night.

When they go to Van Houten’s house they try to discuss about the book but as the author was so rude, Augustus gets angry, has an attack and they leave his house feeling very frustrated.

I thought the movie was sad but at the same time very romantic and beautiful. I recommend for those who love dramatic romantic movies.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

By Pedro Mahfuz The best seller novels of Harry Potter have attracted millions of readers. The plot of J.K Rowlling’s first novel is about a young boy named Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliff). His parents were killed by a dark wizard named Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) who he does not know and for that reason he lives with his muggle (non-magical people) uncle, aunt and cousin, who hate him.

Harry Potter does not know about the magical world until, one day, after many attempts, he receives a letter saying that he has been invited to go to a magical school named Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He meets a half-giant named Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) who helps him buy his school materials. He gets on a train on platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross Station which takes him to Hogwarts. He is very well known in the magical world for having survived Voldemort.

At school Harry Potter learns many things and makes many friends, but his best friends are Ronald Weasly (RupirtGrint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). Although he makes many friends he also makes some enemies for example Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton). He likes all the teachers, professor, McGonagall (Maggie Smith) and professor Quirrell (Ian Hart), who are fans of Harry’s except for one, Severus Snape (Alan Rickman), who hates him. The school headmaster is Albus Percival Wolfric Bryan Dumbledore (Richard Harris), who is a very old but wise man.

Harry Potter goes through many adventures in this novel; one of them is when he goes to the third floor, which is prohibited to all students. There he, Ron and Hermione get face to face with a gigantic three-headed dog. Later they find out it is guarding something, which is the Philosopher’s Stone, which is the elixir of life and they know that someone is trying to get it, they think it is professor Snape.

Harry Potter learns how to play Quidditch, which is a game played by wizards on flying broomsticks and he is invited to the Gryffindor team. He is the youngest Quidditch player in one hundred years.

Harry, Ron and Hermione decide to go after the person who is trying to get the stone. Therefore, they go to the third floor and start going past the things guarding the stone.

First, they pass through the threeheaded dog, then they have to pass through the Devil’s Snare (which is a plant that can kill you), then they have to catch a key with a broomstick to open a door and finally they play giant chess.

After this part, Ron gets hurt and Hermione stays to help him so only Harry carries on. He gets to a place and he sees a man, but this man is not professor Snape. it is professor Quirrell.

Quirrell was helping Voldemort to come back, so Harry fights against him and beats him just by touching him with his hands.

In my opinion, this is one of the best novels in the whole wide world, and I recommend it for all ages. It is a very interesting fiction with many adventures; I also recommend the Harry Potter books, which, in my opinion, are the only things that are better than the movies (I myself am reading the collection for the second time). This bestseller deserves to be where it is just for the story of Joanne Kathleen Rowling who is the author of this novel and many others.

Lucy´s plot is also very interesting, because people who watch are curious as the story progresses and want to know how it ends and that´s certainly a good strategy of the director.

At first, she transports a type of drug inside her stomach, which could make a person use 100% of the brain. She transports inside some plastic, but for a reason, the plastic opens up and the drug starts acting. She starts doing some incredible things that a normal person wouldn’t.

Along the movie, Scarlett Johansson, who plays Lucy, does an awesome job pretending she could use 100% of her brain. The actress has also done Avenger, Captain America and Under Skin, among many other movies and has had good performances in all of them.

Morgan Freeman is a very experienced and good actor that has already done very good movies

of different Kinds. At Lucy he interprets Samuel Norman, who makes a good job as a brain researcher. He gets surprised when Lucy makes contact with him. He has already done lots of other movies such as Million Dollar Baby, Batman, The Bucket List and others.

Cho Min-Sik is a Korean actor, who in the movie plays Jang, the bad guy. His job wasn’t the best, because he didn’t get inside the character very well. He has also done Oldboy, I saw the devil and others.

Amr Waked is the police detective. I think he could have done better, such as showing more his feelings. Some other movies he had done are Syriana and Amor Impossível.

In my opinion, the movie is very good and really well made. I also think that making a movie about the brain was a good idea.

That’s why everything happened, because they decided to protect both lives.

Everyone can notice that teenagers always catch up with the most recent and modern devices, from smart phones to videogames. We can also see that lately, this relation with their gadgets has been causing many health damages.

The users of one of the most downloaded apps, „Whatsapp‟, may not know that the famous application has not a long time ago, resulted in a serious disease, caused by excessive typing, the WhatsAppitis.

It is real! “It is the way you use the touch screen, with your palm facing the device on both sides and the thumbs flying at the screen that causes the problem,” says Prithvi Mohandas, Joint Managing Director, MIOT hospitals, and orthopedic surgeon. “We‟ve seen a lot of people with this kind of pain. We have also seen many from the IT (Information Technology) sector, with injuries to the ulnar ligament, because of the way they use devices at work”.

Also, the controversy has arisen again about whether holding cell phone next to the head for too many minutes a day threatens the brain with electromagnetic radiation.

The preponderance of evidence continues to indicate there is no treatment. But, they shouldn’t affect each other. You can’t study less just for a social life, or not have a social life because you only study.

Students of all ages can be affected by this problem, but most likely the teenagers in middle school are damaged.

One of the most common ways for the social life to affect the study is when you start chatting with someone until you realize there is no time left to study.

Another form of the case cited above is when the person is so obsessed with the idea that if she or he doesn’t hang out with their friends, they won’t have any.

By Rafael Salonikios Bulling is a very serious problem for everyone, the ones who practice it, who receive it and also for adults and people not involved in it. It gives a very bad impact in the society for the future and the present.

There are usually two types of bullying: the one where people are physically harmed and the one with offensive words. I think this is one of the worst problems in the society and mostly in schools.

People can stop practicing this bad habitby starting to think that all over the world people have some differences in many ways, but the rights and respect must be the same.

People usually practice bullying because they are afraid, sad or nervous about something, and then, they discount on innocent people who are around them.

A way to stop it is to treat people who practice it with a specialist, usually a psychologist. Another solution to prevent it from happening is to punish people who practice it.

It’s also important to teach the ones who are bullied to defend themselves, they should always tell their parents what is happening, so they can know the difficult situation their kids are going through and try to find out a way to tell the kid what to do.

In schools, to stop bullying is not easy, but the educators need to prevent it before it starts ruining the lives of some students forever!

First of all, to give a good look to your room, you need to redecorate it, mainly painting the walls, because no one likes a dirty wall. When painting, chose just one color, and preferably neutral ones, you don’t want your house to look like a rainbow. If you prefer also paint one wall with a color you like.

The second step is to put the furniture, but keep two important things in mind: color and space. The furniture should have a color that matches the wall color, remember you don’t want a rainbow in your house and you need space, you can never forget this! You shouldn’t buy either big or small furniture to the room, otherwise you will have a problem to know where to place them.

The third step is organization.

This is that part where lots of people have troubles with. Actually, it’s very simple, the idea is to place things that are the same together, for example, books should be one beside the other on a shelf and they should be organized by size and movies are the same thing. You also need to make space for the things you have, so they aren’t disorganized all over the house.

The fourth step is to put some cool things on your wall, such as paintings, posters, wall stickers or pictures, something that you like, something that you won’t get tired of, actually, everything you put on your house should be things you will not get tired of.

The fifth step is the most fun one, the part you leave your house with your own characteristics. Problems of using cell phones for so long

.

By Isabela Yunes Once, in Arizona there was a gorgeous blonde girl named Aubrey, she was 14 years old and she had an absurd addiction for her cellphone.

Her routine was always the same. She used to dream everyday with her phone, her social media friends and getting more followers.

Her dream was to work for Apple and invent a new iPhone for her own benefit. She woke up and got her phone, then, while she brushed her teeth and washed her face she was still using it.

Everything in her house was high tech, for example she made her breakfast by using some equipment that was in her kitchen.

The coffee machine was automatically connected to a touchscreen, so, she just had to touch it and her coffee was ready. After, she would go to her room and touch a screen that selected her outfit and her shoes.

During all her classes she stayed full time using her phone or her iPad. She was so good at disguising her usage that the teachers didn’t even notice. During the recess, she was also eating her snack and using social media, mostly Facebook or Instagram. After the class, she went to her house talking to her friends.

One day, she didn’t go to school, she simply didn’t want to go, because she didn’t want to have class, she stayed all day in her phone, locked herself in her room. Her mother was really worried about Aubrey.

The next day, her mom took her to the doctor. He said Aubrey had a really rare disease called nomophobia, for staying so long in her phone, this was driving her crazy, it was also affecting her brain and she could eventually die.

The doctor suggested Aubrey going to a specific rehab clinic for treatment.

He also recommended being without her phone for 6 months. She got very mad and tried to run away, but obviously she couldn’t. The doctor gave her mom some advice, such as, after she got back from the clinic her house couldn’t have any more technology and also to take Aubrey’s phone away, because maybe when she got back from the clinic she wouldn’t even remember what a cellphone was.

One week later, she was sent to the clinic. Her humor was changed completely and she kept taking medicines all the day long. Due to her strong disease, she had to go under a shocking treatment and it let her kind of ‘upside down’. She was not really herself in the first two days, but afterwards, she became very calm.

After a while, she didn’t even remember about her phone.

During her days in the clinic, she decided to write a book about her life there. She was totally out of her mind.

Two years later, Aubrey got back to her house and everything had changed. She didn’t even ask her mom about her phone, she had literally forgotten about it. She was definitely more mature now, she started to get really high grades at school, and now she had a lot more friends. Aubrey’s life was much easier and happier. Her school’s principal asked her to give a speech for the whole school, telling how cellphones and technology can harm you and change somebody’s life.

Indian Buddhist boy is bullied

By Isadora Faria Bullying is a very common problem nowadays. It happens mostly in school, but you can see it in the streets or even in your job. It usually happens to those who are “different” or “weird” as bullies call.

Bulling can lead not only to mental but also low self-esteem problems.

Bodhi is a fourteen-year-old boy who suffered bullying in his old school, West Netherland High. He is a Buddhist and lives in Netherland.

Bodhi said: “For my classmates I was a weird and different boy. I didn’t fit in. Everybody knows you can’t be different during High school or else you will probably end up like me: bullied.”

“He was definitely not a popular common kid. The school was aware of him being bullied but there was not much we could’ve done.

From my school principal experience, I think Bodhi was the most bullied boy I have ever seen”. Said Bodhi’s school principal, Caleb Hack.

Bodhi told everything started when he moved from India to Netherland.

Before his classmates found out he was a Buddhist, he had already been excluded from the way he wore clothes and the way he spoke English (both Indian like).

He had a really difficult time during High School. He missed his life in India, his friends and family, but he was able to overcome this hard period of his life. Today, Bodhi has a successful career, he became a Pediatrician.

Bodhi gave me the sensation that life is not all about school. You can learn and experiment things there, but in case something goes wrong you won’t “die”. You have to stay strong and find a way to overcome it, just like him, who now has a beautiful family and life.

A DANCE PASSION

By Amanda Amorim Paige is a young girl who loves dancing more than anything.

She goes five hours a day to her dance academy, because she wants to be in the competition team. She does home school every day, but she doesn’t really care much for the studies, all she wants is to dance.

One day, Paige was going to her dance academy and the owner of the place called her and said she would not be allowed to go anymore.

Paige was very sad and didn’t understand why she had to leave.

Paige was heartbroken, because dance was her passion, and dancing was the only way she could express her feelings, she was a very shy girl.

The next day, Paige’s mother realized something was wrong and she asked what happened. Paige said crying that she was kicked out from the dance academy for no reason. Her mom said she would find out why that happened and she decided to talk to the school’s owner.

Paige’s mom found out that Paige had gone to the dance academy the night before without her knowing, and signed up for the competition, but Paige said she hadn’t done it, because she had been at home practicing for the next day auditions.

Her mom believed her, but the owner of the place didn’t.

There was a girl who was very good and also the leader and the favorite student, her name was Maddie. She didn’t want Paige to be part of the team, so she pretended to be her and signed up for the competition, so Paige would be out of the team.

Paige was really sad but wanted to investigate more, she knew that Maddie was afraid of her getting into the team and being better than her.

When she was in the dressing room, she talked to Maddie and recorded everything, because she knew she was going to say something about what she had done.

Maddie said that she was mad at her and wanted her out of the team. She also said her plan was too good to be discovered.

After Paige’s mother heard the recording, she told the academy’s owner. The owner got very mad at her “favorite” student and Maddie was kicked out of the dance academy. Page replaced her in the completion and was very happy about it.

POLO A DIFFERENT SPORT

By Luiz Fernando Lorenzetti Polo is a very interesting sport; it has many elements, rules and championships, but is not as wellknown and popular as the other sports.

The most important elements are horses, a bat, a ball, a place to play and specific equipment that is put on the horse to play.

The sport is very complex. Each team plays with 4 players on a field of 300 meter-long and 100 meter-wide.

Most of the games have 6 or 7 halves and each one has 7 minutes. When it finishes the referee stops the game and every player changes horses.

During fast games, when the players are very good and the horses are very fast, the players can change 2-3 horses per half. Each team defends one goal. The players stay on the horse with the bat and the ball (the size of a tennis ball) made of plaster or wood that is on the floor. The purpose of the game is to score a goal by hitting the ball with the bat until it enters there.

You need to play with your partners, make strategies and you have to be alert not to make any faults.

The games usually have many goals and every time a team scores a one, there is the throw-in. The throw-in is when all the players go to the middle of the field, the referee throws the ball and the players have to try to get it.

Every time a team scores a goal, they start scoring more, so it changes sides, as the 1st and the 2nd halves on soccer game.

Last, but not least, the Handicap. The Handicap is what determines the quality of the player.

Sometimes the handicap doesn’t show how good or how bad the player is. It goes from 1 to 10 goals. Usually ‘1s’ are the worst players, usually children or people who are beginning the sport.

One of the centers of Polo in Brazil is in Indaiatuba (São Paulo). It is played in many countries, such as England and the U.S.A, but the Argentineans are the best ones and they have the most important championship in the world in Palermo.

Besides not being as played as soccer, basketball, volleyball and other sports, because it’s not so popular and is very expensive, Polo is a very interesting sport, with plenty of details and also considered a difficult, in terms of money and hardness but it is a sport that only tends to grow in Brazil and the whole world.

By Lucas Marinho Michael Gerard Tyson was a very good boxer. He was born on June 30, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York, US. He grew up very fast and by the age of 12, he weighed 80 kg and was very muscular. At the age of 15, he was in the heavy weight category and was a fast knock outer. At the age of 18 he was better than his trainer.

One day Mike asked to make a sparing (fight simulation) with his trainer and he won! Consequently, not even his trainer was able to keep up with him in the ring, he then became the world’ best boxer of the heavy weight category after turning 20 years old. He was the youngest boxer to conquer this title.

Mike had a tough childhood.

His father abandoned his family when he was just 7 years old and his mom had difficulties to bring money into the house, so he needed to start work very young.

In my opinion he was a very good boxer and if he had had a present father, maybe he wouldn´t have been as dedicated as he was.

By Lucas Zatiti Rafael Nadal, a 28-yearold Spanish professional tennis player has won 14 Grand Slam single titles, an Olympic gold medal, a record of ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals), world tour Masters 1000 and 15 ATP 500 tournaments. He became the seventh player in history to achieve the Career Grand Slam that is when a tennis player wins 4 times the Grand Slam.

Tennis is a game played with rackets and a high ball by two players or two pairs, in a rectangular court divided by a net. The players must hit the ball over the net and into a specific area on the other side.

Rafael Nadal Parera was born on June 3, 1986 in Mallorca, Spain, also known as ‘the king of clay’, which is a type of tennis court.

He turned a professional at age 15, his popularity took place for his topspin heavy shots (racket hits). He started tennis at age 3 with his uncle called Toni Nadal, a former professional player who until today is working with him in the championships. At 12, he won the Spanish and European tennis titles from his category.

According to different opinions about Toni and Rafael Nadal, people always say Rafael needs to improve and to be careful with his rivals, who might exceed him at the ranking of tennis professional players.

In my point of view, he is an amazing and strong player, just like the others, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Roger Federer, who are also among the best players. Nadal has a good attack with fast and heavy shots, which give him a lot of advantage.
