CERAMIC TILE

IN THE MAKING
Hand-crafting ceramic tile is an art and a science, with an element of unpredictably that we have fully embraced as part of its honest aesthetic.
Our ceramic tiles are made-toorder for you by ceramicists in rural Newfoundland. Because they’re handcrafted, each piece is unique and slight variations will be present in the glaze and format. The beauty lies in finding the right balance of handmade imperfection.

Recommended that a skilled professional or licensed installer has minimum 5 years proven Perform installation in accordance with TTMAC Tile Installation Manual, “Ceramic Tile”, latest edition.
Examine substrates, areas, and conditions where tile will be installed, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of installed tile.
Verify that substrates for setting tile are firm, dry, clean, free of coatings that are incompatible with tile-setting materials including curing compounds and other substances that contain soap, wax, oil, or silicone; and comply with flatness tolerances required by ANSI A108.01 for installations indicated.
Joint Widths: Unless otherwise indicated, install tile 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) spacing, and widen as required to assist with pattern uniformity in handcrafted edges to achieve consistency.
Prepare grout and mortar according to manufacturers’ instructions.
Comply with parts of the ANSI A108 Series “Specifications for Installation of Ceramic Tile” that are referenced in installation standards and apply to types of setting and grouting materials used.
MAINTENANCE
Protect installed tile work with kraft paper or other heavy covering during construction period to prevent staining, damage, and wear.
Use a neutral cleaner capable of removing soil and residue without harming tile and grout surfaces. Determine that cleaners are safe to use by testing on samples of tile and other surfaces to be cleaned.
