Unoffendable

Review and conversation with Chel Garrison

◼ Review – Do you agree or disagree with the following statements? Explain.

o Session 1 – The Myth of Righteous Anger

▪ Table – There is such a thing as righteous anger in the Bible – it just belongs to God.

Group – We can choose to be unoffendable.

o Session 2 – What Humans Are Like

▪ Table – We have to quit being in constant shock when people do things or say things that we do not approve of.

▪ Group – Repentance is key to living this life of radical forgiveness – being able to admit when we are wrong.

o Session 3 – The Physiological Effects of Anger

▪ Table – We should not get stressed out about the things that might happen to us.

▪ Group – A better way to live is to trust that God will deliver us and will execute his justice. Life becomes much easier when we choose not to be offended by people who are broken.

o Session 4 – What About Injustice?

▪ Table – Are we supposed to get angry about injustice? Biblically, the answer is no. What we are supposed to do is actually do something about it.

▪ Group – Letting go of anger doesn’t mean we roll over or refuse to fight. It just means that we refuse to be driven by anger in that fight.

o Session 5 – How to Actually Do This

▪ Table – Seeing others through God’s eyes means forgiving people as a matter of lifestyle. Forgiveness becomes the first thing that we do, and the posture of forgiveness becomes the foundation for our relationships.

▪ Group – The only thing that has been proven to change people’s minds is relationships.
