March 8th is International Women’s Day
We asked some of our female employees what this day means to them!
Celebrating International Women’s Day: What does it mean to me?

Founded in 1911, long before women had the right to vote (1920), have her own bank account or obtain a credit card in her name (1974), certainly progress has been made, and more needs to be made. For me, I have tried to focus less on gender and more on developing my capabilities. My focus has always been on what can I learn from others, both men and women, and how can I be a role model to younger women in the workforce. I don’t want women to achieve more than men, I just want women to have the same opportunities based on her own capabilities, equal capabilities.
Let’s celebrate all the women in the workforce and lift all our female employees up today and every day. If you want to make an impact, today take an extra step and make a purchase from a women owned business.
I
think it was best said like this… "How wrong it is for a woman to expect the man to build the world she wants rather than to create it herself."— Anais Nin

Celebrating International Women’s Day: What does it mean to me?

International Women’s Day to me is acknowledging the sweat and effort that women go through on a daily basis, which is a wide spectrum. Recognizing and validating women’s efforts is highly appreciated.

International Women’s Day is a day to reflect on women that have risen up despite circumstances and accomplished their calling, to make a difference to people around them and become a light to the world. If I can make a positive impact in someone's life no matter how small, I am representing and honoring those I admire.

“As society see what women can do, as women see what women can do, there will be more women out there doing things, and we’ll all be better off for it.”

Celebrating International Women’s Day: What does it mean to me?

For years, women have fought for equalization. Today we join as mothers, grandmothers’, sisters, or aunties to say, “Thank You”. Not that the work has been completed, but that a bridge has been constructed, that will only lead to better jobs, better opportunities, a better US.

“A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.”
— Maya Angelou

This day to me signifies a day that celebrates the social, economic and culture achievements of all women. It’s a day to raise awareness about gender equality and women’s rights. This day often reminds me to reflect on the progress women have made and honor our contributions.
