Dr. Gene and Margie Luckstead spent more than 30 years collecting fine British and European ceramics, including many rare pieces purchased directly from Royal Doulton’s U.K. potteries. Dr. Luckstead, a cardiologist and pioneer in the field of Pediatric Sports Medicine, assembled a coveted collection showcasing the work of decorative sculptors from around the world, including artists from Great Britain, Africa, and Europe, with especial emphasis on the unusual and collectible. In the Lucksteads’ recently acquired private collection, assembled from around the world and presented here for the first time, are found many old, antique and vintage character jugs, Kingsware series, Dickensware, and recently rediscovered limited edition items.
