SHORELINE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH A portion of each of our services during the Lenten season will focus on “Freedom from Fear.” Throughout the gospels Jesus tells his followers or those around him, “Do not be afraid.” Yet today, fear plays an enormous part in our lives. May this season be a discovery of fears from which Jesus is releasing us today.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Photos For The Clauses Wrapping up Today Dan and Grace love the head start on putting our names to faces so far! Today we'll be concluding the March photos. We have the photo area set up with some fun props. Steve DeKoekkoek and Kim Clousing will be ready for your family, group, or individual shots. You can see the online SCRC Family Album at the following link: http://bit.ly/SCRC-Family-Album If you did not get a chance to have your photo taken this month and still want to join in the fun, contact Steve DeKoekkoek and he’ll add you to the album. Carpet Anyone? As we prepare the Parsonage for Dan and Grace, the Building Committee wants to offer the removed carpeting —which is still in decent shape (separate scraps in beige and blue)—to anyone who might be interested. You may contact Paul DeKoekkoek or Pete Van Dyke for more information. Thanks from the Reynolds Thank you for your prayers during Martha's recovery from back surgery. Thank you so much for the delicious dinners you all made and delivered all the way out to our home. Martha's recovery continues, and Herb has been busy caring for her as well as all the other special demands on his time. It is very much appreciated. ~ Herb & Martha Reynolds

Special Thanks THANK YOU to those who volunteered at our quarterly Parents Night Out last week! We had a record of 18 children, ranging in age from five 1 yr olds to an 11 year old, come to play. We were delighted to have children who are part of our church family as well as a number from our neighborhood community! Please watch for our next event in June and consider how you might participate. THANK YOU also to the families who let us enjoy their children for the evening! Street Clean-Up Cleaning “our street” in front of the church is one of the ways we serve our community. We are looking for some individuals or a group who would be willing to take on this community project a few times a year. We are responsible for 25th Avenue from 145th to 165th. Besides beautifying our neighborhood it’s also a good walk! If you are interested or have questions, contact Wayne Clousing. Library Update Have you noticed the library bookshelves in the Foyer? Our church library has a new process—you no longer need to sign out books you'd like to read. Just take them home and return them when you are finished. Our librarians will circulate the books that are on the shelves, so take a look every so often to see if there's something you might find interesting. For more info, contact the Church Office

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office.

Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) This club for girls in grades 3-6 meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. ALIVE Youth Group (JH and HS students) This year, we are combining our JH and HS students in a group called ALIVE (always living in view of eternity). We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, unless noted otherwise. Our next regular meeting is on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Couples' Club (for Couples of All Ages) This group meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. Host: Ken & Carla Hoekzema Helpers: Clarence & Lois Deelstra Steve & Carol DeKoekkoek

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (Adults all ages) This group of adults meets once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. Our next meeting is April 15 at 3:00 p.m. We will continue our study by Dale Larsen entitled, "Growing Older and Wiser." Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We will continue in our study of the book of Zechariah. All men are welcome, so please join us! Women’s Monday PM Bible Study The Women's Monday Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are starting a study guide from the Voice of the Martyrs entitled, I am N: Inspiring Stories of Christians Facing Islamic Extremists. Contact Carla Hoekzema for more information. Women's Fellowship Group Join us on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. as we meet for fellowship. We meet at Third Place Books in the Lake Forest Park Shopping Center. For more information, contact Harriet Jonkman. Hope to see you there, and please bring a friend.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered

community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.

Reformed…

Church…

Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
