There will also be a benevolence offering for Care Net/Life Choices. Communion: We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together today. We welcome you to the table, whether you are a member or visitor, if you have searched your heart and can make the following statements: • I recognize that I am a sinner and I am genuinely sorry for all my sins. • I trust in Jesus Christ as my only Savior and Lord, and I earnestly desire to live my life in obedience to him. • I have made public profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and I am a member in good standing of His church. Cookie Social: We will enjoy our monthly cookie social after the morning service. Thanks to those of you who brought treats to share.

SHORELINE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH A portion of each of our services during the Lenten season will focus on “Freedom from Fear.” Throughout the gospels Jesus tells his followers or those around him, “Do not be afraid.” Yet today, fear plays an enormous part in our lives. May this season be a discovery of fears from which Jesus is releasing us today.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Meal Train Needed

SAVE THE DATE | JUNE 24 New Pastor Installation We eagerly anticipate the arrival of our new Pastor, Dan Claus, his wife, Grace, and their daughter Miriam. By the time they arrive, they will also have a second daughter in tow. Pastor Dan's first Sunday in the pulpit will be on June 24, and we will mark that important day with an Installation Service. Following that important time, we will enjoy a church potluck together downstairs in the Multi-Purpose Room. Please be in prayer for Dan and Grace as they anticipate the birth of their second child, pack up their belongings, and prepare for this new season. In the meantime, you may send email messages of greeting and encouragement to Pastor Dan's new email address: danclaus@seattlecrc.org. Photos For The Clauses Dan and Grace would like a head start on putting our names to faces. Starting next week on March 11, we will have a photo area set up with some fun backdrops and props. Steve DeKoekkoek and Kim Clousing will be ready for your family, group, or individual shots. The photos will be put into an online gallery for all to enjoy. See you next week with your best smiles!

Martha Reynolds continues to recover from her surgery on the cracked vertebra, and will need plenty of rest in order to recover fully. Please continue to pray for reduced pain for her and patience for her and Herb during this time. If you can support them with a meal please use the following link: https://mealtrain.com/m7584l New Policy on Animals/Pets Because there is an occasional reason to have animals on the church property, it is necessary to have some guidelines for health and safety considerations about when and where their presence is appropriate. POLICY It is our policy that animals are not permitted in the Shoreline CRC building. For those occasions when an animal is needed in the building (sermon illustration, Sunday school presentation, etc.) Council approval is required before the animal is allowed to enter the building. While the church is not legally obligated to allow service animals into the building, our policy is to allow service dogs without the need for approval. Service dogs must meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Other types of service animals or comfort pets are not permitted. – Adopted by the Council on February 20, 2018 For more info, contact the Church Office

Parents' Night Out  Friday, March 16  6:30–9:00 p.m. We will once again invite children from our church and neighborhood to come for an evening of fun while their muchdeserving parents enjoy a date night or just time to run some errands. Children ages 6 months through 11 years are invited to enjoy games, stories, and snacks in a safe, supervised environment. Young parents may enjoy a night out without paying for childcare. The rest of us—ages 12 and up—will have the opportunity to serve the young families by volunteering to help with registration, preparing and serving snacks, or playing with/caring for the children. You may register your children or volunteer at the table in the Foyer. Questions may be directed to Dora van der Giessen.

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office.

Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) This club for girls in grades 3-6 meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. ALIVE Youth Group (JH and HS students) This year, we are combining our JH and HS students in a group called ALIVE (always living in view of eternity). We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, unless noted otherwise. Our next regular meeting is on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Couples' Club (for Couples of All Ages) This group meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. Host: Clarence & Lois Deelstra Helpers: Rich & Alyce Bakker Brian & Ivonne Vander Vlies

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (Adults all ages) This group of adults meets once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. Our next meeting is March 18 at 3:00 p.m. We will continue in our study by Dale Larsen entitled, "Growing Older and Wiser." Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We will continue in our study of the book of Zechariah. All men are welcome, so please join us! Women’s Monday PM Bible Study The Women's Monday Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We just finished our study on Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver. For the next couple weeks, we're meeting offsite to watch and discuss a Family/Christian movie. Contact Carla Hoekzema for more information. Women's Fellowship Group Join us on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. as we meet for fellowship. We meet at Third Place Books in the Lake Forest Park Shopping Center. For more information, contact Harriet Jonkman. Hope to see you there, and please bring a friend.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered

community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.

Reformed…

Church…

Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
