ANNOUNCEMENTS UPCOMING CONGREGATIONAL DATES Please note some important dates: • Today, Sunday, Dec. 3 – After the service, we will review the 2018 Budget together and will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions. If you haven't yet reviewed the Annual Report, be sure to check your mailbox. It includes Council updates from the year, ministry highlights, Congregational meeting minutes, and the proposed 2018 Budget. • Sunday, Dec. 10 – Our Annual Congregational Meeting will include voting on Elder/Deacon leadership, the 2018 Budget, and approve the minutes of Congregation Meetings. See information at right about Elder and Deacon nominations. Thank you for planning ahead so that you can join us for these important times in the life of our church. Absentee Ballots: If you cannot attend the Congregational meeting next week, you may still participate in the leadership voting process. Absentee ballots are available in the Foyer Absentee ballots must be received on or before December 10, accompanied by a signature on the ballot or enclosing envelope. You may place in the ballot box in the Foyer, outside the Church Office, or mail it to the Church Office.

Deacon / Elder Nominations One goal the Council has for 2018 is to increase the Council from four deacons and four elders to five of each. A second important goal is to work toward a rotation system for those serving. This is especially needed for the elders since the current four elders were all elected at the same time, and without any change would all go off at the end of 2018. It is our desire to not have more than two elders or two deacons’ terms end on any given year. The following process is the beginning of meeting these goals. Deacons: The congregation will be voting for two(2) deacons from the following nominees: Thera Anema Carol DeKoekkoek Ed Einfeld Brian Vander Vlies will be going off after a two-year term, which will put the deacons back on a good rotation schedule. Elders: The congregation will be voting to approve three elders: Steve DeKoekkoek Ken Oordt Eric van der Giessen Wayne Clousing and Tim Vanden Bos will be ending their terms after two years. However, to provide continuity the two elders going off will stay in office through March 31 (temporarily giving us seven elders). Beginning in April, we will then have five elders and be close to a good rotation system for future years.

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered

community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.

Reformed…

Church…

Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
