Sunday School and Catechism classes will meet today after the morning service and will dismiss by noon. All children from K-Grade 12 are invited! Two Offerings: We will collect two offerings this morning. The first one will be directed toward our Local Operating Budget (LOB), and the second will go to Ministry Shares. Thank you for being a prayerful and generous church body! Community Meal: Come join us for a community meal— a baked potato bar with delicious toppings. We will gather at 11:30 a.m. in the MPR after the service this morning.

Next Week

Message: The service next week will be a very special one. In lieu of a guest speaker, we will set aside time to reflect on and celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk and Theology professor, courageously challenged the existing practices of the Roman Catholic church that he felt was crushing the poor, lining the pockets of church leaders, and most importantly threatening to leave people's souls unreconciled to God.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Leadership for Serving Groups

Insights from the Reformation Next Sunday, we will be celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, and recognizing Martin Luther's revolutionary impact on the church. In preparation of that time, you might want to listen to some audio programs that focus on "Five Insights from the Reformation," produced by Groundwork—a broadcast ministry of Back to God Ministries International. These episodes focus on how we are saved by grace alone, by faith alone, through Christ alone, by Scripture alone, and to the glory of God alone. Groundwork is a half-hour weekly audio program for radio and podcast that digs deeply into scripture as the foundation for our lives. Each week, pastors Dave Bast and Scott Hoezee cultivate our understanding of God’s Word by unpacking the richness of the Bible and applying it with insight for today’s world. You can access these audio programs by visiting their website: https://groundwork.reframemedia. com/episodes If you have a QR code reader app on your smartphone, access the site by scanning this code:

Serving Groups are being reformed, and Carol DeKoekkoek has graciously agreed to take leadership of this caring ministry. Serving Groups have historically been tapped when there is a memorial service reception, when a visiting choir needs a meal, or another special need arises. This involves the preparation, serving, and clean up of food or baked goods. All the women in the church will be assigned to one of three rotating groups, and each group will be led by two team leaders (for a total of 6 volunteer leaders). If you are willing to lead a team or don't want to be a part of this ministry, please contact Carol DeKoekkoek or the Church Office. We are grateful for all who will participate in this caring ministry. THE BANNER Magazine Free App THE BANNER is a monthly magazine published by CRCNA. Many of you receive this monthly subscription in the mail, but did you know that you can also get it on your smartphone? Available for iPhone/Android, this new app gives you quick access to all the latest BANNER news and features posted online. Search for CRCNA Banner in your app store. Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office.

Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) This club for girls in grades 3-6 meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. ALIVE Youth Group (JH and HS students) This year, we are combining our JH and HS students in a group called ALIVE (always living in view of eternity). We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, unless noted otherwise. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Couples' Club (for Couples of All Ages) This groups meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. We look forward to starting our new year on Saturday, November 11 at 6:30 p.m. Host: Dan & Chris Kredit Helpers: Eric & Dora Van der Giessen Brian & Ivonne Vander Vlies

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (Adults all ages) This group of adults meets once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. Our next meeting is Sunday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m. We will continue in our study by Dale Larsen entitled, "Growing Older and Wiser." Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We are starting a new study on the Five Marks of the Reformation, and Ken Oordt will be providing the study guides. All men are welcome, so please join us! Women’s Monday PM Bible Study The Women's Monday Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are continuing in our study, Embracing God's Grace. This study is one that does not require continuity, so all women are invited to join us at any time. Women's Thursday AM Bible Study Join us on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in Rooms 201-202 as work through our study, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver. This includes video introductions and lessons for this 12-week study. We invite women of all ages to join us!

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered

community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.

Reformed…

Church…

Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
