ANNOUNCEMENTS

Women Thursday AM Bible Study

Missionary Support Team Update

The Women's Thursday Morning Bible Study will resume this week on Thursday, October 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Rooms 201-202. We will continue our study with Lesson 3 in our book, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver. Hope to see you then!

When Pastor Randy Rowland is not serving at Shoreline CRC, he is deeply invested in a local leadership development/discipleship ministry called CENTERED.

Church Library - New Additions Now that cooler weather is here, are you ready to sit down by the fire with a good book? Visit our library before or after each service. New additions include Dangerous Territory by Amy Peterson, and Seven Lessons from Heaven by Dr. Mary Neal. You will also find DVDs of our worship services, as well as others for adults and children.

CENTERED is an exciting organization whose mission statement is "raising the next generation of Jesus-centered leaders." The strategy of this ministry is to develop intergenerational mentoring. CENTERED is dedicated to cultural and gender diversity. A recent weekend retreat drew a record crowd of 540 people, ranging from 2 years old to a 92 year old. On November 3, they will host the Seattle/King County Prayer Breakfast, followed by a student leadership training event where they are expecting over a thousand participants. To learn more about CENTERED, you may visit their website at www.centered.org.

Community Meal - October 22 The entire SCRC family is invited to our next community meal. This time, we are planning a baked potato bar, with the church providing the baked potatoes. You may bring a delicious and creative topping or a dessert to share with others. Sunday, October 22  11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Multi-Purpose Room If you are able to help with set up on the preceding day, Saturday, October 21, please contact Wayne Clousing.

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office.

Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) This club for girls in grades 3-6 meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. ALIVE Youth Group (JH and HS students) This year, we are combining our JH and HS students in a group called ALIVE (always living in view of eternity). We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, unless noted otherwise. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Couples' Club (for Couples of All Ages) This groups meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. We look forward to starting our new year on Saturday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. HOST: Mike & Kelly Vedders HELP: Ken & Carla Hoekzema Rich & Alyce Bakker

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (Adults all ages) This group of adults meets once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. Our next meeting is Sunday, October 15 at 3:00 p.m. We will continue in our study by Dale Larsen entitled, "Growing Older and Wiser." Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We are focusing on the Book of Titus. All men are welcome, so please join us! Women’s Monday PM Bible Study The Women's Monday Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are continuing in our study, Embracing God's Grace. This study is one that does not require continuity, so all women are invited to join us at any time. Women's Thursday AM Bible Study Join us on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in Rooms 201-202 as work through our study, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver. This includes video introductions and lessons for this 12-week study. Please contact Harriet Jonkman if you need help getting the book. We invite women of all ages to join us!

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered

community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.

Reformed…

Church…

Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
