Missionary Support Team Update Since our own Martha Reynolds first went to Guinea Bissau in 1994 to establish the West Africa Vocational School (WAVS), the country's unemployment rate has gone from 95 percent down to 80 percent. Since its founding by Herb and Martha Reynolds, WAVS is frequently called "Jesus’ Industrial School." Here is a story about one of the graduates. Agusto’s story The eldest brother in his family, Agusto had no skills. His brother suggested he go to Jesus’ Industrial School. Before coming to WAVS, Agusto knew nothing about welding, but he learned about the tools and machines, and the tricks of the trade. After graduating, Agusto opened his own welding shop and now has money to support his family without having to beg or borrow. He feels good that maybe now others can borrow from him, and he can help people in his community. Sharing the Word of God in the devotions in class helped Agusto develop as a Christian. He says “I think that will help others to come to Christ.” He says “I will never forget to thank God for giving me the opportunity to study in this school

because the school has a good program for my progress in a technical way and in a spiritual way.” God is doing wonderful things with the people in Guinea Bissau. The government in Guinea Bissau is still reestablishing itself and the new Minister of Education is still working to get us the land for the new school in Antula. The city hall staff changed their story and said that they now would have to wait for a court case involving the dispute between the traditional land owners and city hall to be resolved before city hall could provide WAVS with any land. The staff also said that they weren’t so sure they could provide WAVS with nine hectares of land. The meeting lasted about 10 minutes. When Jenna, who works for WAVS, told Jorge (the representative for the Minister of Education) about the meeting, he said he was surprised and promised to find out why we were not given land. The Missionary Support Team asks that you continue praying for this vital ministry, the people it helps, and the potential gift of land in Antula. For more info, contact the Church Office
On behalf of the entire Dykstra family, we would like to thank the church family for your thoughts, prayers, support, cards, and phone calls in response to the passing of our brother, Doug. We are blessed by God to be in this caring community. We are comforted by the knowledge that he is with Jesus.

Shoreline Christian Reformed Church is a gospel and grace-centered
community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.
Reformed…
Church…
Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
