Announcements NEXT WEEK - Congregational Vote
Annual Ladies' Tea
The Council is grateful for the overwhelming and strong input of the congregation in recent weeks and months about our church identity as we’ve discussed the need to change our church name. Your collective desire to reach the community for Christ has been exciting to see, and leadership is moving this process forward based on your feedback.
Please plan to attend our Annual Ladies' Tea. All ladies are invited and we also encourage you to invite other women friends, neighbors or relatives. Food, fun and fellowship will be the order of the day and we may even have a surprise or two, so mark your calendars! Saturday, April 1 1:00 p.m. Multi-Purpose Room In order to make sure we have enough of everything, please RSVP to us at deacons2017@seattlecrc.org or leave a message at 425-478-1876. See you there!
On Sunday, April 2, we will vote on the top three church names that have surfaced as the most compelling and descriptive options. Please check your lobby mailbox for a full proposal that outlines the name options and the process of how we will move forward at a Congregational Meeting immediately after the service. The Council asks that you take time this week to reflect on and discuss the following questions within your small groups or ministries: 1. How will a new name affect our witness to our community? 2. What would each of these names mean to our unchurched neighbors and friends? 3. Which names are short, clear, easy to remember, meaningful, and reverent? Absentee ballots will be accepted. Besides being counted in the first round, an absentee ballot vote for one of the two top names remaining after the first vote will also be counted in the second vote. All absentee ballots must be signed either on the ballot or on the envelope containing the ballot. Questions? See Wayne Clousing.

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office. Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior), a club for girls in grades 3-6, meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. MAC (Made Alive in Christ) MAC Junior High students meet together most Wednesdays during the academic year. Come join the fun at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. High School Youth Group The High School Youth Group meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month during the school year. We have a meal together and get caught up on each other's lives before learning about discipleship in Christ. Grow Groups (Adults) Grow Groups meet once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. We are continuing our study of Galatians.
Couples Club (for Couples of All Ages) This groups meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, April 15. HOST: Dan & Chris Kredit HELP: Ed & Denise Einfeld Steve & Carol DeKoekkoek Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We use a John Stott study guide as we focus on 1st Timothy and Titus. Women's Morning Bible Study The ladies meet most Thursday mornings from 9:30–11:00 a.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are using a Bible study guide entitled, "The Girl's Still Got It: Take a Walk with Ruth and the God Who Rocked Her World" by Liz Curtis Higgs. Women’s Evening Bible Study The Women's Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are using the study guide "Embracing God's Grace— Colossians and Philemon." Please join us if you are able.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

First Christian Reformed Church of Seattle is a gospel and grace-centered community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. Reformed… Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church… Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
