Professions of Faith on 3/26
As we look forward to our Annual Missions Conference next Saturday and Sunday, we eagerly anticipate hearing from missionaries about how God is working in the world.
Recently Sarah Bakker, Mandy Faber, and Taylor Hoekzema met with the Elders of the church to express their desire to make their personal Professions of Faith. Their public professions are scheduled for the service on March 26. We thank God for His work in each of their lives.
As you come to church next Sunday, please bring finger food (e.g. sandwiches, fruit, veggies, crackers, cheese, etc.) for us all to enjoy while visiting the missionary displays after the service. Thank you for helping to make Missions Sunday a special time. Missions Conference— International Dinner 3/18 On Saturday, March 18, we look forward to our upcoming International Dinner and Program—an important, story-filled component of our Annual Missions Conference. The theme this year is "In Your World, Lord, Be Glorified." While the entire conference is free and open to one-and-all, donations are always appreciated. Also, if you are coming to the International Dinner on Saturday evening, RSVPs are appreciated at the Church Office. However, please feel free to come even if you haven't reserved a spot! Special Thanks to Our Church Family As we look back on the past 12 months, we are reminded of how our church family has been there for us. Your love, shown in so many ways, helped us endure. Thank you for the cards, the meals, the hugs, driving us to doctor appointments, visiting us in the hospitals, asking us how we are doing, listening when we tell you, and especially for the prayers. You are not only our friends, you are our family. Thank you for being there for us. We love you all. ~ Gregg & Lisa Boer
Membership
At their request, the Council has released the memberships of Chris, Briana, and Nora Van Elderen so that they can affiliate with Bethany Community Church. We extend our blessing to them in their new church home. New Books in Our Library Several new books have been added to our church library collection. Stop by either before or after service, look for the "New to Our Library" shelf, and check out these new fiction/nonfiction books. For more info, contact the Church Office
Absentee Ballots for 4/2 Vote Absentee ballots will be accepted for the church identity congregational vote on Sunday, April 2. Besides being counted in the first round, an absentee ballot vote for one of the two top names remaining after the first vote will also be counted in the second vote. All absentee ballots must be signed either on the ballot or on the envelope containing the ballot. Ladies Tea - April 1 @ 1:00 p.m. Ladies of the church, please plan to attend the Ladies Tea on April 1, 2017. We will gather in the Multi-Purpose Room at 1:00 p.m. All ladies are invited and we also encourage you to invite other women friends, neighbors or relatives. Food, fun and fellowship will be the order of the day and we may even have a surprise or two, so mark your calendars! In order to make sure we have enough of everything, please RSVP to us at deacons2017@seattlecrc.org or leave a message at 425-478-1876. See you there! GEMS Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, April 1 We look forward to our annual GEMS Spaghetti Supper—but there's a bit of a twist this year. Our event will be held on a Saturday evening, rather than on a Wednesday. Saturday, April 1 5:00–7:00 p.m Fellowship Hall While the event is free, donations are welcome and will be directly applied to this wonderful ministry that equips and motivates girls to live out their faith. 206.364.3021 office@seattlecrc.org
Important Congregational Vote on April 2 The Council is grateful for the overwhelming and strong input of the congregation in recent weeks and months about our church identity as we’ve discussed the need to change our church name. Your collective desire to reach the community for Christ has been exciting to see, and leadership is moving this process forward based on your feedback. On Sunday, April 2, we will vote on the top three church names that have surfaced as the most compelling and descriptive options. Please check your lobby mailbox for a full proposal that outlines the name options and the process of how we will move forward at a Congregational Meeting immediately after the service. In the weeks preceding the vote, the Council asks that you take time over the next month to reflect on and discuss the following questions within your small groups or ministries: 1. How will a new name affect our witness to our community? 2. What would each of these names mean to our unchurched neighbors and friends? 3. Which names are short, clear, easy to remember, meaningful, and reverent? Thank you for your prayerful consideration in preparation for the Congregational Vote on April 2 regarding our new Church Identity/Name.

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office. Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior), a club for girls in grades 3-6, meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. MAC (Made Alive in Christ) MAC Junior High students meet together most Wednesdays during the academic year. Come join the fun at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. High School Youth Group The High School Youth Group meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month during the school year. We have a meal together and get caught up on each other's lives before learning about discipleship in Christ. Grow Groups (Adults) Grow Groups meet once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. We are continuing our study of Galatians.
Couples Club (for Couples of All Ages) This groups meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, March 25 (rescheduled because of the Missions Conference on March 18-19). HOST: Rich & Alyce Bakker HELP: Dan & Chris Kredit Eric & Dora van der Giessen Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We use a John Stott study guide as we focus on 1st Timothy and Titus. Women's Morning Bible Study The ladies meet most Thursday mornings from 9:30–11:00 a.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are using a Bible study guide entitled, "The Girl's Still Got It: Take a Walk with Ruth and the God Who Rocked Her World" by Liz Curtis Higgs. We are currently on break and we'll resume on February 2 in Lesson 5 of our study. Women’s Evening Bible Study The Women's Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are using the study guide "Embracing God's Grace— Colossians and Philemon." Please join us if you are able.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT) 206.364.3021 office@seattlecrc.org

First Christian Reformed Church of Seattle is a gospel and grace-centered community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. Reformed… Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church… Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
