Announcements Team Leadership Opportunities Are you gifted with children, and love helping to shape young minds and hearts? Use those gifts by becoming a team leader in Children's Church. We are looking for a volunteer to help with scheduling and various tasks throughout the year. For more information, you may contact Eric Buist.

Come join us at the Calvin College January Series each weekday through January 24 at First CRC. Each lecture will be shown via a “live feed” from Calvin College and will cover topics ranging from reimagining healthcare, closing the gender gap in technology, global poverty and violence, vocation and calling, race and reconciliation and so much more by top experts in their fields. Each session will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will last for about one hour. For information about speakers and topics, visit the January Series website at www.calvin.edu/january.

Table Talk—Church Identity Jan. 15 @ 11:30 a.m. Our last Table Talk on Nov. 13 regarding Church Identity demonstrated that there was widespread eagerness to participate in the discussion about how to identify ourselves to the community we serve. As we consider a pending church name change, we want to be clear and compelling in communicating who we are and what we're about. Because the last Table Talk was so wellattended, the Council is planning another one to allow for more participation. This will be a repeat of the 11/13 one, so don't feel a need to attend again if you came to the first one. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Clousing.

Urgent Need for Tutors KidReach has an urgent need for three(3) tutors.for students in grades 1, 2 and 6. This role begins on Wednesday, January 11 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. and continues most weeks thereafter. For more info, please contact Vonnie Roosendaal or Dora van der Giessen. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

Directory Update in Progress We are in the process of updating our First CRC Directory. Please take a few moments to review the drafted pages that are on display in the foyer. We'd like to include birthdays (month/day) and anniversaries (month/day/year), so please help provide or correct what is reflected. Thank you for taking the time to update our files.

We are currently on break and we'll resume on February 2 in Lesson 5 of our study.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

First Christian Reformed Church of Seattle is a gospel and grace-centered community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. Reformed… Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church… Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
