Today Nursery: The Nursery is available downstairs for children (newborn–age 3) during the morning service. Children’s Church (ages 4-8) will NOT meet today, nor next week on January 1. Sunday School classes will NOT meet after the morning service today. Please note: There will be no Sunday School classes on Jan. 1.

Next Week Sunday's Message: Eric Likkel will wrap up our Advent Series entitled, "Who's That Coming This Way?" with a focus on the Magi, taken from Matthew 2. Communion: Next week, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Over the coming week, prepare your heart to confess at the Lord’s table so that you seek your salvation in Jesus Christ. Two Offerings: During this coming week, please prepare your heart to hear the Lord’s direction on how He would want you to give for the two offerings next Sunday. The first one will be directed toward our Local Operating Budget (LOB), and the second will go to Benevolence. Thank you for being a prayerful and generous church body! Cookie Social: We will have our monthly cookie social after the morning service next week Sunday. For those of you whose last name begins with I-R, please bring 2 or 3 dozen treats to share.

Table Talk—Church Identity Our last Table Talk on Nov. 13 regarding Church Identity demonstrated that there was widespread eagerness to participate in the discussion about how to identify ourselves to the community we serve. As we consider a pending church name change, we want to be clear and compelling in communicating who we are and what we're about. Because the last Table Talk was so wellattended, the Council is planning another one to allow for more participation. This will be a repeat of the 11/13 one, so don't feel a need to attend again if you came to the first one. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Clousing. Sunday, January 15, 2016 - 11:30 a.m. Multi-Purpose Room Please join us if this is a topic of interest to you. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Clousing.

Year-End Financials As we approach the end of another year, it is also time to think about closing our financial books and records. Please gather up and submit all receipts, invoices, statements, bills, etc. which must be included in our 2016 budget by December 31. You may place your records in the bookkeeper mailbox in the copy room, or you can simply email them to Bookkeeper@seattlecrc.org. For more info, contact the Church Office

Mark Your Calendars - This Week Mission Team Renamed

Sunday, December 25

The “Mission Team” has changed its title to “Missionary Support Team” to better reflect what it does, and to distinguish it from the “Outreach Team.”

10:00 a.m

The Missionary Support Team (MST) meets and acts to support and encourage missionaries from PIM, WAVS, WOTIM, EN and other missions via our Mission Conference, promoting awareness of the missions via bulletin inserts, sending out notes of encouragement, and giving input for our congregation’s annual budget. Your MST is comprised of Aidan Bakker, Ed Einfeld, Laura Kredit, Herb and Martha Reynolds, and Vonnie Roosendaal.

Getting Connected We encourage you to get connected with a community group for fellowship and mutual support. It is far too easy to simply come to church on Sunday and then slip out. We want to get to know you better, so join us! If you would like more information about any group, please contact the Church Office. Cadets (Boys grades 3-6) The goal of Cadeting is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. The Cadets meet most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall during the school year. GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior), a club for girls in grades 3-6, meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in various rooms at church. Our activities include Bible lessons, praise/worship, badges, crafts and other fun things. MAC (Made Alive in Christ) MAC Junior High students meet together most Wednesdays during the academic year. Come join the fun at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. High School Youth Group The High School Youth Group meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month during the school year. We have a meal together and get caught up on each other's lives before learning about discipleship in Christ. Grow Groups (Adults) Grow Groups meet once a month in various homes every third Sunday from September through May. We are continuing our study of Galatians.

Couples Club (for Couples of All Ages) This groups meets one Saturday evening per month from October through May Our next meeting will be on Saturday, January 21. HOST: Clarence & Lois Deelstra HELP: Mike & Kelly Vedders Ed & Denise Einfeld Men’s Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study meets most Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room. We use a John Stott study guide as we focus on 1st Timothy and Titus. We are currently on break for the holidays, and will resume on January 9. Women’s Monday PM Bible Study The Women's Evening Bible Study meets most Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are currently on Christmas break and will resume in January. More details coming soon. Women's Thursday AM Bible Study The ladies meet most Thursday mornings from 9:30–11:00 a.m. in Rooms 201-202. We are using a Bible study guide entitled, "The Girl's Still Got It: Take a Walk with Ruth and the God Who Rocked Her World" by Liz Curtis Higgs. We are currently on Christmas break and we'll resume on February 2 in Lesson 5 of our study.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

First Christian Reformed Church of Seattle is a gospel and grace-centered community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean? We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. Reformed… Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church… Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
