Norman Lundin – Remembered Detail Opening Reception: Thursday, November 7, 6-8 Artist talk: Saturday, November 9 at noon

BIG EXHIBITION SPACE, 2019, oil on canvas, 60 x 88 inches

“Lundin in Big Exhibition Space may be imagining a radiant morning glow, announcing an auspicious beginning. Around the perimeter of the space, new pictures have arrived and await unpacking and hanging... The dynamic interplay of diagonals—the warmbrown shadows, the edges of crates, the frame and struts of the ladder—lends excitement, even exuberance to this premonitory vision of a new show, a culmination of energetic effort, celebrating the knowledge and skill developed over a lifetime.” –from Sue Taylor, “Norman Lundin’s Metaphysical Paintings,” in the fully illustrated, 70-page exhibition catalog Norman Lundin: Rememered Detail

JOSEPH MARUSKA TRANQUIL PASSAGE NOVEMBER 7 - 30, 2019 A R TIST ’S R E CEPTION T H UR SD AY, NOVEMBER 7, 6 - 8 PM

Hitch, oil on panel, 40 x 80 in.

Joseph Maruska presents “Tranquil Passage,” a collection of new work in oil on panel. Known for his unique style of abstraction, Maruska focuses this exhibition on coupling abstract painting with atmospheric landscape. The work embraces mystery with a lingering intimacy, as light and shadow interplay with negative and positive space. Maruska has a keen awareness of not only what he visualizes, but also of what the viewer might experience, deliberately organizing luscious fields of color that give root to landscape, sky and water.
