PRG is honored to present recent work from two iconic realist painters, Mark Beck and Kellie Talbot. The works for the exhibition focus on American landscape, rich colors and fantastic interpretations of light, each with a distinct and unique vision of their subject.

Kellie Talbot’s practice requires that she spend thousands of miles on the road collecting reference material at every spot along the way. Having visited over 30 states, this new collection of paintings titled “Road Work” is the compilation of the many signs, typography, architecture, industry, cemeteries and other emblems of society that have inspired the artist along the way. Talbot will be the first to tell you that there is much more to discover, more of America to see, more folks to talk to and most importantly, more roads to travel.

MARK BECK Splendid Isolation

Mark Beck’s “Splendid Isolation” presents the landscape through the lens and backdrop of our time in seclusion. Beck’s paintings convey a positive expression of what isolation can be and the resulting images are extraordinary. While the inclusion of simple structures, or beach shacks implies human interaction, when juxtaposed against the beauty and sometimes fury of the ocean they also resemble totems and are a metaphor for individuals. The works in this exhibition are rich in artistic tradition and rely on the landscape to reveal its own narrative.
