But, tucked away in a corner of the industrial park off Keating Cross Road in Saanichton, a family-owned business is preparing to look out for you this winter. Meet Daryl Mowat of F.A.S. Fuels. F.A.S (Father And Sons) has been serving the community for 15 years. The business was originally headed up by Daryl’s father, and he’s hoping that eventually his sons will join him. Currently, his brother Kevin shares the responsibilities.

Everything is automated, and you’re really lucky if you get through to an actual person. Then, you’re told you can leave a message to schedule delivery when they have time. The last thing you want to hear when you’re calling because you’re out of heating oil is a recording asking you to leave a message.” No computer messaging at his office.
