Thank you for the services of the City’s Water Truck hosing down/cleaning the side walks in the SPCID area, as we continue to strive to keep the SPCID clean

The SPCID ensures that our side walks are maintained and repaired Thank you to the City’s departments for attending to these repairs, making it safe for our pedestrians

Safety & Security

Safety & Security remains our core primary mandate. With the help of our LPR Camera network, Tactical Vehicle and Security Service Providers, our response is almost immediate.

Stats for the period Jan to Mar 2024: 1157 Interventions attended to 3 Arrests for various crimes

3573 Traffic Fines issued 16 679 431 vehicles tracked via our LPR network

Urban Management Social Services

Keeping our Sea Point Clean is an important mandate we continue to uphold.

Stats for the period Jan to Mar 2024: 11 757 bags of waste collected or 82.29 Tons

We also did: Pavement Repairs , and Storm water drain cleaning to prevent flooding

Our 3rd mandate is to offer support and social services. The CID Field Officer assisted in providing a range of services.

In the period Jan to Mar: 2024, we have assisted 59 People admitted to shelters

We continue to keep you informed - giving you access to updates, latest news as well as showcasing businesses in the Sea Point CID area Our monthly visitor stats are increasing daily.

Be aware of your surroundings

Don’t walk in deserted or dark areas

Keep your handbag and possessions close to your body

Avoid using your cellphone while walking

Keep your cellphone and wallet tucked away

Avoid visibly of valuables such as laptops, cameras and jewellery

Don’t carry large sums of money and avoid counting it in the open

Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return

If being followed proceed to the nearest public place

Home Safety

Never let strangers into your home, always confirm their legitimacy

Invest in and utilise a good security system

Adequate lighting around the perimeter of your house acts as a good deterrent

Trim shrubs around windows and entrances so they cannot conceal intruders

When you leave your home at night, leave interior lights on so that your house looks occupied

If living in a complex, don’t open entrance/foyer doors to strangers and prevent tailgating

Never disclose that you are home alone
