Biology Cambridge Immerse Summer School The subject of Biology is coming more to the fore in our modern day world of technology, climate change and the gradual disappearance of wildlife throughout the world.

This course is ideally suited for those who wish to progress their studies to university level, with the aim of considering Biology as an academic and potentially future career.

The purpose of the Biology Cambridge Summer School, which is intentionally for students currently studying at an A-Level/IB level, is to gradually introduce them to the more advanced topics and elements of University level biology.

The curriculum is specifically adapted to encourage debate on the general topics normally associated with Biology, yet will encompass such topics as the philosophy of science and its particular reference to Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.

The Biology Summer School held at Cambridge University, is conducted by a team of highly regarded lecturers and tutors, many of whom are either current, past or postgraduate members of Oxford or Cambridge. They will guide students through the complexities of molecular science and how it may relate to individuals and populations, thus enabling them to gain an unrivalled experience in the understanding of these important tenets.

The Biology Cambridge Immerse Summer School will also give students an insight into the various debates raging between scientists and opposing religious believers. Both have a completely different understanding and view of the principles of evolution and students will be able to learn from the contributions of leading biologists such as Prof Dawkins. For those really interested in the overall field of Biology, this is their opportunity to hear about current assumptions and assertions adopted by each side of the equation.

The majority of students will be aware of the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) Cambridge, success at which is a definite prerequisite for undergraduates to be accepted to an Oxbridge University. The Biology Summer School will include optional workshops to help students develop the outline drafts of their Personal Statements, which form part of the entrance examination to all universities worldwide.

There is also the option to attend Skills Workshops, which will allow students to gain their first experience of the types of questions that may be asked throughout the TSA exams. At the same time, these workshops will help build the confidence and develop the intellectual aptitude that will be required to be successful at the University interview.
