Boulder, Colorado
Fall 2024
Boulder is known for its natural beauty and a vibrant social scene. The city is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, drawing the attention of many people who enjoy spending their time in such an immersive environment. Boulder also is a place where creative people thrive by being around such a creative culture. Unfortunately, the city has previously endured struggles in providing accessible art programs for the community.
This program connects the unique culture of Boulder with the surrounding environment to attract creative minds and create community engagement.
The Flatirons Community Arts Center Invites you to journey through the site, experiencing both indoor and outdoor elements. following the natural contours of the surrounding landscape, the exterior of the building has elements that resemble the beautiful mountains that serve as a backdrop to the city. As users traverse through the site, they will experience a number of programs that can be utilized to expand their creative minds, as well as enjoying the artistic works of others.
The site includes two buildings, split apart from eachother to create a gap between busy and quiet spaces. The main building includes a large central gallery and studio spaces surrounding it. The back building consists of workshops and other equipment available for everyone to use.
Outdoor spaces include lots of seating, newly planted vegetation, and outdoor workshops.
Boston, Massachusetts

In the heart of downtown Boston, the Ware Street Apartment complex offers affordable multi-family housing to the residents of the city.
The 3,200 square foot building includes 10 total units, plus indoor and outdoor public spaces. The building is made up of sustainable materials that benefit the buildings environmental quality and will allow the residents to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. The structure of the building is also composed of large, glass windows that enhance natural lighting. The building is designed to allow users to have full privacy, but not to be too disconnected from enjoying the city lifestyle.
The backside of the building includes a public rooftop and courtyard for all residents to use. Nearby buildings provide shade to these areas. The exterior of the building also has a double-skin facade which acts as a natural ventilation system that reduces energy consumption for heating and cooling.

Eben G. Fine park has been a vital space for outdoor activity and leisure, making it an appreciated area for Boulder residents. However, a vacant lot next to the park entrance has been underutilized for a number of years.
This project transforms the vacant lot into a site composed of independent spaces that flow into each other. As visitors visit the site, they are taken on a path sequence on the boardwalk, touching different areas that address the Boulder community.
The Herbarium is the focal point of the design. It is located in the southwest corner of the site. It has a total of 2,469 square feet of space, and serves as a collection archive for various species of plants that are commonly found in Boulder.
The flow of circulation through the site resembles the shape of a plant, with new experiences at each leaf.
One set of opposing corners features a pavillion and a green roof. While the other corners offer seating on unique parametric benches.
Denver, Colorado
Fall 2023
The Sunken Sanctuary brings life and character to Fishback Park, a once overlooked space along the Denver’s South Platte River.
The proposed intervention creates flow and connection throughout the site. The design transforms the site into a space that connects the built and natural environment. The new path splits the site, incorporating three areas that are sunken into the landscape and offer seating for users.
The site originally was lacking in vegetation and elements that promote a healthy environment. The proposed intervention introduces native plants which create habitats for insect species commonly found around the area. The design benefits the surrounding ecosystem through new vegetation, animal food sources, biofiltration services, and elimination of an existing parking lot.

The companies mission is to work with brands and other businesses to design experiences through pop-up events. These events connect the community and the brand over shared interests and promote engagement for that brand.
