SEAMAN ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB
During the 2023-24 school year, SABC contributed approximately $30,000 to help athletic programs at Seaman, including basketball, baseball, bowling, soccer, golf, softball, tennis, cross country, wrestling, cheerleading, Vikettes and volleyball.
• Provides all athletic letters, bars, and patches
WHAT DOES SABC PROVIDE FOR MY ATHLETE? IT WOULDN’T
• Hosts, organizes, and serves refreshments at the Homecoming Bonfire
• Provides Senior Night flowers
• Sponsors a Gatorade station for all athletes participating in Fall, Winter & Spring sports
• Provides all sport programs that are handed out at the games free of charge
• Provides State yard signs for all athletes qualifying for State competition
• Supports the hospitality rooms for coaches/officials/staff at sport events & tournaments
• A financial sponsor for Afterglow
• Maintains & updates the Viking billboard on Topeka Blvd across from Tarwaters
• Sells Viking Spirit Gear

SPORTSMANSHIP
The ideal of sportsmanship permeates virtually every aspect of our culture. The ethic of fair play may be witnessed in all facets of life. However its origin has been firmly established in sports, as a training ground for good citizenship and high behavioral standards.
Sportsmanship is defined as those qualities of behavior, which are characterized by generosity and geniune concern for others.
The need to make sportsmanship a primary role and to restore placement of interscholastic activities in an educational perspective was the catalyst for the adoption of Rule 52 by the KSHSAA.
The challenges are quite evident and will require a maximum effort by our fans, students and athletes in order to achieve the desired outcomes. The concept of sportsmanship must be modeled by our parents, taught and reinforced in all competitive activities by our coaches, and respected by the representatives of our society. Sportsmanship is good citizenship in action.
Examples of Good Sportsmanship during an athletic event:
• Cheer for your team and not against an opponent.
• Do not refer to any opponent individually.
• Cheer with, not in opposition to, the cheerleaders
• Fans are to remain off the gym floor at all times.
• Be respectful of all, and recognize good plays made by any player.
• Fans are there to cheer for the team, not create a spectacle or draw attention to themselves.
