The skies above Stuart will roar to life this November as the 2025 Stuart Air Show returns for three unforgettable days of aviation excellence, history, and community spirit. From cutting-edge fighter jets to rare pieces of living history, this year’s lineup promises to inspire, entertain and unite audiences of all ages.

Headlining the show is the F-35 Lightning II Demo Team, showcasing the most lethal, survivable and connected fighter
aircraft in the world. Flown by Demo Pilot Major Melanie “MACH” Kluesner, the F-35’s agility and raw power will demonstrate why it’s a cornerstone of national security and a symbol of technological advancement.
Joining the roster is the VFA-122 West Coast Rhino Demo Team with the F/A-18F Super Hornet, delivering high-speed maneuvers and thunderous flybys that will shake the skies. For precision and elegance, the Northern Stars Aerobatic Team will dazzle with intricate formations and gravitydefying stunts.

Program Director Mimi Wild is celebrating over 25 years of service—a milestone that reflects both her deep personal commitment and the vital role she plays keeping Molly’s House such a special place.
Mimi began her journey at Molly’s House in 1998 through her own cleaning business, servicing the guest
rooms. Her reliability, attention to detail, and genuine care for the families staying here quickly stood out. As the needs of the organization evolved, so did her role. Today, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the entire house—coordinating guest referrals, managing reservations, responding to emergencies, and making sure every stay is as stress-free and supportive as possible. She’s also the person who knows exactly who to call, and what to do, whenever the house needs something.

Study hard.” Having children is a lifelong commitment to love forever. However, back to school means “back to you.” Once again, we thank all of you for following us for so many years and for sharing this enlightening news with your single family and friends. Hunger often goes unseen. It may be hidden in the child who can’t focus in your classroom or the one who only has one slice of days-old bread in his lunchbox. It may be hidden in your neighbor who just lost her job and is struggling to pay next month’s rent. It may be hidden in your family member who is battling cancer and the medical expenses that go with it.
14.6 percent of U.S. households do not have enough food for an active, healthy life. High food prices and cost of living, low income, and increased unemployment rates are contributing factors to food insecurity. It is estimated that more than 192,000 residents in Palm Beach County struggle with hunger. More than 50,000 of these individuals are children. Without food, we are starving our children of potential and stripping their parents

of hope for a better life. This is a public health crisis that requires the attention of our entire community.
Despite Palm Beach and Martin counties ranking in the top five wealthiest counties in Florida, more than 11 percent of each county’s population lives in poverty. The gap between the food secure and those who go hungry is widening.
As the executive director of CROS Ministries—a leading South Florida nonprofit providing hunger relief in both of these wealthy counties—we see firsthand the effects of rising grocery and housing costs and other economic pressures
on food security. Over the past five years, the number of people seeking food assistance from CROS has surged by 71 percent. This increased demand comes at a time when USDA cuts to The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and other federal funding cuts threaten to significantly limit the food and financial support CROS receives by 10 percent— directly impacting how much food CROS can provide to the increased number of families and individuals facing hunger and food insecurity.
In 2024, CROS distributed 1,160,913 pounds of food which helped serve 121,664 individuals. Behind every meal and bag of food CROS provides is a person, a family, and a story of resilience. Access to food can change the trajectory of their lives – helping them transition off food assistance to become the next entrepreneurs, teachers, scientists, doctors, social workers, etc. Access to food will help build a better community, country, world for all of us.
September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action. Every action—big or small—is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry. At CROS, although we aim to increase awareness of the hunger crisis this month, we take action every day to ensure access to healthy food for all in need. Our programs include community food pantries, hot meal services, and gleaning initiatives that recover fresh produce from local farms.
We cannot meet the rising need alone. Please consider joining us in taking action against hunger. Volunteer at your local food bank, food pantry, or hot meal program to help with sorting, packaging, preparing, serving, or delivering food. Host a food drive at your school, workplace, or place of worship. Organize a group to help gather surplus fruits and vegetables from local farms that would otherwise go to waste. Contact your state representatives and local leaders to speak out against federal funding cuts to the SNAP (food stamps) and Medicaid programs. Cervical Disc Herniation: A Pain In The Neck That Is Treatable
Cervical (neck) disc herniation is seen in many age groups. This problem is becoming more common as people spend hours each day with their neck bent to look at computers, tablets or cell phones. Ivan Stoev, M.D., a neurosurgeon at Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, answers some commonly asked questions about cervical disk herniation.

What Are The Symptoms Of A Herniated Disc?
Neck pain, headache, pain radiating down the arm or in the shoulder, and numbness or weakness in the fingers are all signs.
How Is A Herniated Disc Diagnosed?
Your physician can order a variety of tests to determine the cause of neck or shoulder pain, such as X-rays or MRI or CT scans, sometimes with dye is injected into the spinal canal. Another test is an electromyelogram, which involves placing small needles into muscles and measuring their response.
How Is A Herniated Disc Treated?
Some improve on their own. Physical therapy, steroidal medication and traction can help improve them too, as can
spinal injections known as epidurals or nerve blocks. For more serious cases, surgery to decompress the nerve root and remove a small part of the disc gives pain relief. For extreme neck and arm pain, we can remove the entire disc, replace it with a bone graft or artificial disc. Most patients can resume normal activities six to eight weeks after surgery.

Periodontal Disease
85 percent of pets have periodontal disease by 3 years of age. It is the leading health problem found in our pets and can pose serious short- and long-term health concerns, beyond just bad breath, oral pain, and a generalized decreased quality of life.
In a normal mouth, the teeth are clean, pearly white and the gums attach smoothly to the tooth. There is no redness or tartar, and your breath smells great! The tooth is bathed in saliva, bacteria, and food particles but if this is brushed away, it never mineralizes into tartar. However, if we do not regularly disinfect our mouths and brush away the plaque, the plaque will mineralize into tartar. Tartar is solid and gritty and covers the crown of the tooth. This creates inflammation and blocks oxygen from bathing the outer tooth, which changes the nature of the bacteria in the mouth. This new bacterium eats away at the attachment of the tooth and surrounding bone. The result is periodontal disease. Even worse, this new type of bacteria can seed to other areas of the body leading to infection in the heart, liver, kidney or virtually anywhere the bloodstream carries it. The body is constantly fighting spread of the infection.
Fortunately, there is a lot we can do to prevent periodontal disease, and the rules are ones we are all familiar with, whether referring to us or our pets: professional cleaning and at-home care. You can generally expect once your pets reach 3 to 4 years old, they will need a professional teeth cleaning every 12 months. General anesthesia will be necessary for each tooth to receive proper attention and care. Additionally, home care is
ideally a daily part of tooth maintenance but even brushing just twice a week can remove most plaque before it can mineralize into tartar. Clearly not every pet is amenable to hands-on oral care though, nor is every person’s schedule amenable to it, so for those cases, there are some lower maintenance options as well.
It should not be surprising that dental health requires regular professional cleanings regardless of whether the mouth in question belongs to a person, a dog, or a cat. Home care of the tooth is never perfect and periodically tartar must be properly removed and the tooth surface properly polished and disinfected. The professional cleaning performed at the veterinarian’s office is similar to what a person receives at their dentist’s office. Large tartar is removed with specific instruments, then the periodontal sockets are probed and measured to assess periodontal disease. The roots are planed, meaning tartar is scraped from below the gum line until the roots are smooth again. Then the enamel is polished to remove any unevenness left by tartar removal. Finally, the mouth is disinfected and possibly treated with a fluoride sealer or plaque repellent. After the cleaning, professional notes are taken on a dental chart, noting abnormalities on each of a dog’s 42 teeth or a cat’s 30 teeth.
Once the oral health exam has been performed, at- home care becomes important to maintain a healthy mouth. Daily brushing is recommended, but studies have shown that even twice weekly brushing is enough to significantly reduce the amount of plaque buildup in your pet’s mouth. In addition to brushing, there are dental wipes, rinses, and pads, as well as preventative gels, dental treats and diets that aid in oral health. The Veterinary Oral Health Council is an organization that evaluates dental products, and their website is a good resource to help guide you on available options.
Too often our pet’s dental health is overlooked and attributed to a normal amount of “stinky pet” breath and nothing more. Unfortunately, this can not only affect their oral health, but it can also have serious systemic health consequences. If you have any questions or concerns or want to discuss this further, your veterinarian can answer your questions and help assist you in keeping your pet healthy for many years to come.

After a brief introduction, Congressman Mast opened the discussion by highlighting the One Big Beautiful Bill, a legislative proposal aimed at making the nation more secure, prosperous, and strong. Key components of the bill include:
• An increase in the childcare tax credit for working families,
• No taxes on tips up to $25,000 and no taxes on overtime up to $12,500,
• And additional provisions designed to improve quality of life for American citizens.
Following his remarks, Congressman Mast engaged in a Q&A session with the audience, addressing a range of topics including the health of local waterways, citizenship policies, and specific concerns affecting the Treasure Coast community.

More Than 75 Community Members Join Martin County Healthy Start’s Inaugural Bridge Walk For Babies On July 12
More than 75 community members gathered at Jock Leighton Park on Saturday, July 12, to take part in Martin County Healthy Start Coalition’s first-ever Bridge Walk for Babies, a new event designed to spotlight the importance of maternal and infant health across Martin County.
Families, advocates and local supporters stepped up – literally and figuratively – to rally around efforts that ensure moms, babies and families have access to the care they need. The family-friendly walk was launched in response to the recent closure of Martin County’s only labor and delivery unit, which has left expectant families facing increased barriers to care.
“I’m a second-generation Martin County resident, and I hope we have a place for future generations to give birth in their own community. The lack of local maternity care is deeply concerning,” said Jessica Tharp, board president of the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition. “Events like the Bridge Walk

The Bridge Walk for Babies is part of Martin County Healthy Start’s broader efforts to improve access to prenatal and maternal care through initiatives such as the MOM Mobile, a mobile prenatal unit that brings services directly into neighborhoods, and the proposed Treasure Coast Maternity Center, a future facility dedicated to serving families on the Treasure Coast.
