Three Backup Trade Show Items to Keep on Hand Trade shows are a big deal for companies because they can potentially mean new clients and increased business. That’s why trade show booths should be carefully planned out and designed. The better and more informative your display, the better chances you have of making connections and attracting new clients. What happens however when your perfectly crafted trade show display fails because you run out, lose, or break important trade show items? Your display can be the best one at the show, but if you run out of essential items, it’s all for naught.

Banner Stands Your stand up banners will be a main part of your trade show display. These stands keep the banners you have prepared upright and in place, and they present important information about your company. They give potential clients information about: ● ● ●

Your products and services Your business contact information Your business logo and graphics

If your banner stands fail or break, there will be no way to hold up your signs and that can damage your chances of making a good impression. Not only will people not be able to see your information, your company could look ill prepared. To avoid this from happening, always carry extra banner stands just in case of emergencies. Banner stands can be easily collapsible and easy to set up, so they won’t take much space. Having a few extra stands on hand could really make a difference and you shouldn’t be caught without them. Lights Even if you’re in a lighted building, lights always come in handy. Perhaps your trade show display is in a darkened corner, or perhaps the lights in your auditorium are dimmed for a presentation. When this happens, how will people be able to see your display and view your information? With a few simple clipon lights or a back light, you won’t have this problem. If your trade show booth is out in the open, then lighting is even more important. Perhaps the trade show continues into the evening, or it could be a cloudy day. Whatever happens, have a few lights packed away just to be sure. You never know when you’re going to need them, but you don’t want to be caught without them. Tents Another valuable item for trade shows displays is the tent. A tent is useful for a variety of things. You can use it to keep away the sun and rain, and you can use it to make your very own office away from the office. When this piece of equipment is so important for trade shows, you want to ensure that you pack an extra just in case your tent is ruined. It could become torn during transportation, or the wind could blow it away and bend the poles. To protect against disaster, pack at least one spare tent. Potential clients and contacts are more willing to stop and chat when they have a place to get out of the wind and scorching sun, so take steps to ensure that you don’t accidentally forget necessary backup items that could damage your effectiveness at trade shows.
