BEACHANDBAYPRESS.COM
Residents raising funds to upgrade local dog park By DAVE SCHWAB It's been a dozen years since Capehart won out over Kate Sessions to become Pacific Beach’s only off-leash dog park. The drunk driver who killed activist Maruta Gardner in Mission Beach after she painted over graffiti was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in prison in front of a packed courtroom. All 77 seats were filled before Jonathan Domingo Garcia, 24, was sentenced by San Diego Superior Court Judge Kathleen Lewis, who turned down his attorney’s request for probation. SEE MARUTA, Page 13
