To join this course you will need to have a minimum four grade 3(D) - 9(A*) at GCSE or have successfully completed the Level 1 course.
To join this course you will need to have a minimum five grade 9(A*) - 4(C) at GCSE or have successfully completed the Level 2 course.
During this course you will learn everything you need to know about working in adult care. You will be given a thorough introduction to the industry and learn about the principles and practices of working in an adult care setting. You will develop your skills so that you are able to clearly and confidently communicate information, contribute to health, safety, and safeguarding, and develop your professional practice, practical abilities, and demonstrate the behaviours expected by employers in the adult care setting. This course focuses on getting you ready for the workplace which means you’ll be perfectly set up to start working in the industry once you have finished. Or you may wish to continue studying with us on one of our Level 3 courses.
During the course you will explore the theories and practices that make for effective communication, how to effectively meet individual care needs, and study the ageing demographic. You will also gain an understanding of diseases and illnesses, expand your knowledge of disabilities, and how to analyse human behaviour. This course is the equivalent to three A-Levels and its main focus is to prepare you for university.
Health and Social Care is such a diverse industry. We’ve had a lot of students branching out a little bit and not going down the “typical” nursing routes. We encourage you to think outside with the types of careers you can do within Health and Social Care!
