Look out for the 19+ purple badge next to the courses qualified for the loan.

An Advanced Learner Loan is a government loan that students may be able to take advantage of to help assist them with the cost of studying a course at a college in England. An Advanced Learner Loan is available to students aged 19 and over who are wanting to study a Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 course. How do I qualify for this loan? To qualify for this loan you must have lived in the UK for more than three years and have a ‘settled status’. Students will not have to pay all the tuition fees upfront. The minimum loan amount is £300 and you apply online. How does paying back the loan work?

You only pay back your loan when you finish your course and earn more than £27,295 a year. If you successfully complete an Access to Higher Education 030 300 39699

course and go to university and complete your degree, then you will not pay back any outstanding loan. Does the loan affect my credit score? In short, no! An Advanced Learner Loan won’t affect your credit score, and your credit rating will not be considered. For more information, please scan the QR code on the bottom left of this page.

East Sussex College (ESC) Apprenticeships can match an apprentice to your business, someone who is trained on the job, learns the industry, and grows with your business. An apprentice could also be an existing employee who is looking to upskill and add new qualifications to their repertoire. Alternatively, you may be thinking about an apprenticeship to advance your own career or have a young person at home who is considering their next steps following their GCSEs. ESC works collaboratively with employers such as the Powdermills Hotel, to deliver the job training and qualifications that apprentices need to complete their learning programme.

“ I decided to become an apprentice as it was a good way for me to kickstart my life and get started. Being an apprentice has given me better knowledge and skills.”
