Just 20 minutes away from Ticao island is the Ticao Manta Bowl, a dive spot where manta rays, tiger sharks, hammerheads, even barracudas and pelagic fish, can be found. An hour Ticao is Donsol in Sorsogon province, famous for the gentle butanding or whale shark. Gentle and friendly as they are, just snorkeling along side these giants is an astounding experience of a lifetime. Sightings of these whale sharks depend on the tide, the current, the moon, the wind and the presence of plankton.
