An exciting way to explore the shallow reefs of the Andaman islands is snorkeling. It is the easiest and affordable water sport for everyone. There are famous places like Elephant beach ( Havelock island), North Bay ( Port Blair ), and Jolly Bay ( Woondor ). You can go snorkeling on your own or hire a local guide if you do not know how to swim. The Snorkelling equipment, you can either bring from the mainland or hire from a local vendor here. Each time you snorkel, you get opportunities to see the colorful fish and live coral reefs while snorkeling in Andaman.
Snorkeling from the shore
The elephant beach and North Bay reef present you with calm and crystal clear water, where you can reach either by short trekking through the jungle, or you can take a speed boat ride. Both the reefs contain varieties of live corals and schools of fish to spot. One can observe a few marine animals such as Octopus and Cuttlefish during snorkeling in these locations, which are not spotted very often at the other spots. The combination of crystal clear blue waters and vibrant marine life makes these islands the best place for snorkeling in India.
