The SERG Group of Hilton Head provided food for the concessions for the first time at the 53rd RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. The tournament was played April 12-18 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines. The traditional hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecue sandwiches were available, but were supplemented by menu items from nine SERG Group restaurants, including Poseidon’s Fish Tacos, One Hot Mama’s Boneless Wings, and Skull Creek Boathouse’s shrimp and grits. “The SERG Group is a local company who knows the importance of the tournament to this community,” Heritage Classic Foundation chairman Simon Fraser said. “We were pleased to offer our fans a wide variety of unique culinary options at the 2021 RBC Heritage and beyond.” Today, the group is among Hilton Head’s largest employers, and its restaurants include Giuseppi’s Pizza & Pasta on Hilton Head and in Bluffton; One Hot Mama’s American Grill; Nectar Farm Kitchen; The Black Marlin Bayside Grill & Hurricane Bar at Palmetto Bay Marina; Skull Creek Boathouse; and WiseGuys Restaurant and Wine Bar; Char Bar Co.; Marleys; Holy Tequila Tacos and Tiquila; and Frankie Bones.
“Dining Alliance has successfully offered substantial rebates that work to fill gaps in our broadline service agreement with US Foods and that they have been diligent in setting up our businesses on their platform. The integration has been seamless to date.” -- Lowcountry Restaurateur
SBA Releases Restaurant Revitalization Fund Guidance and Sample Application The Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) provides emergency assistance for eligible restaurants, bars, and other qualifying businesses impacted by COVID-19. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023. The Small Business Administration (SBA) released a guidance document and sample application for the highly-anticipated RRF grant program. While the SBA will not begin accepting applications until later this month, the release of these documents will allow operators to see the application, gather essential documents, and be ready when the application period opens. Both documents are linked below, along with a helpful explainer from the National Restaurant Association. Don’t forget that SBA will prioritize awarding funds to small businesses at least 51-percent owned and controlled by individuals who are women, veterans, and/or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The SCRLA encourages all operators to review the documents to prepare for the program launch. You can apply through SBA-recognized Point of Sale Restaurant Partners or directly via SBA in a forthcoming online application portal. Registration with SAM.gov is not required. DUNS or CAGE identifiers are also not required. If you would like to prepare your application, view the sample application form at SBA.gov.
