We were grateful to hear that many survey responders miss the arts and are eager to safely return. We miss you too and are hopeful that we may begin presenting amazing artists again in the fall. Of course, the safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, and artists is critical as we plan for gathering again. We are utilizing science and advice from medical professionals to determine ongoing health precautions for events in our venues, and these safety protocols will be adjusted as standards evolve and artists’ plans change. It is essential that we stay flexible and we ask that you do too.

The Future of Art Looks to You! The arts are so much more than a few hours of entertainment—they are our connection to humanity itself. Art is a place to connect to our past, to envision and design our future, to record and interpret our present. Art is a haven where one can experience emotional reflection, rejuvenation, and relief. Despite the challenging repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to ensure that the arts remain an integral part of your life, now and when we can safely return to in-person experiences. Even in times of uncertainty, we’ll never stop making, creating, sharing, and believing in the power of art to change lives.

If you can, will you please give a critical donation to the Scottsdale Arts COVID-19 Relief Fund to help us stabilize and recover? A contribution of any amount allows us to continue serving you with virtual art experiences, outstanding performances, innovative museum exhibitions, exceptional educational programs, and creative public art installations right here in our community. Please visit Give.ScottsdaleArts.org to make your gift of support today.

a world of ART

awaits you in SCOTTSDALE Dear Friends, As you are holding this season preview guide, you will likely be in the process of slowly restarting your lives. You may be gathered with family around the pool for the first time in a long while, you may be enjoying patio dining at your favorite restaurant after many weeks of homecooked meals, and you may have started making plans for fall, from visiting family to seeing your favorite shows. Most of us have never lived through a crisis like this. The arts play a central role in our daily lives, but in a time of crisis, it is the arts that carry us through, give us hope, lift our spirits, help us endure, and, above all, connect us to others and to the human spirit. Suddenly, we realize how precious the things we take for granted really are. For most of us, this came with the realization of how much we missed actual human connections. At Scottsdale Arts, we want to help rebuild these human connections and are inviting you to join us and reconnect. We have curated an exciting season at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, inside Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, outside with Scottsdale Public Art and Canal Convergence, and throughout our schools and community centers with Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation. It will be a season of reconnecting, of meeting friends for a performance, of strolling our galleries with your kids, of connecting to celebrating artists, local creatives, fan favorites, and new discoveries. All we have to offer this season will help you reconnect to your life and your community. Perhaps most importantly, this season will help you reconnect to yourself. In times like these, it is difficult to look inward, to find inspiration, to do more than cope. We hope that our season of programs inspire you, help to rebuild your inner joy, and fill your souls with human spirit. The extraordinary staff here at Scottsdale Arts has done whatever possible to stay connected to you throughout this crisis. We are in a strong position to rebuild and reconnect, thanks to your ongoing support and patronage. We are taking every precaution to facilitate a safe and gradual return to events and performances—the safety of our staff, volunteers, and patrons is paramount. Our team is developing plans, staffing, and equipment to be able to provide you with the safest and most comfortable audience experience possible this fall. I am grateful to be a part of this great team and this great community, and I am very excited to reconnect to all of you this fall. Stay safe, be well, and let your creativity flourish!
