BIOPHILIC DESIGN
Biophilic design is the incorporation of nature and natural elements into the ‘built’ environment. You’ve probably already felt the benefits of it without even realising. Today it can be found anywhere from offices and hotels to the interior design and external landscaping of people’s homes or public spaces. We work with businesses, architects and interior designers across the UK to bring biophilic benefits to the inhabitants of their buildings.
Biophilic design includes the use of natural light, finishes, colours, views, and even air quality and acoustics. But plants offer one of the quickest, easiest and most affordable ways to access the major benefits of biophilic design. Nordik Moss is a sustainable material, harvested by hand from the forest floor, and is 100% biodegradable. We then preserve it using natural minerals, to stop it growing and maintain its fresh look.
The design possibilities with Nordik Moss are endless. You can frame it like a picture, transform a whole wall, or even incorporate it into furniture. We can create patterns, words, or logos, on flat, contoured or 3D surfaces, and you can choose from a spectrum of colours. Whatever your vision, our team can put it on the wall for all to see.

“Benholm Group were an integral partner in the creation of the “Landscape of Flavour” floral installation at Johnnie Walker Princes Street. Their knowledge and research of local flora and fauna ensured an authentic portrayal of the unique landscapes of the Johnnie Walker “Four Corners” distilleries. This installation presented a unique challenge in integrating lighting and AV, hidden access panels, and scenic elements, all while being suspended upside-down from the ceiling.
