SGP 1 BASILIC - CIMSA FK YARSI
3th September 2022

Heart attacks are still the leading cause of death in the world. According to the American Heart Association, an estimated half of all heart attacks are sudden and unrecognized. Basic Life Support (BHD) is an important first aid to be done to anyone who has a heart attack, respiratory distress, or blocked airway with the aim of maintaining a person's life (American Red Cross Training Services). Looking further into the issue of low knowledge and skills of basic life support in teenagers in Indonesia, the SCORE CIMSA FK YARSI conducted a study to determine the basic knowledge and skills related to Basic Life Support (BHD) among school-age adolescents called " Overview of Knowledge of Students of SMAN 35 Jakarta and Tugasku Islamic Junior High School on Basic Life Support" it was found that 65% of respondents at SMP Islam Tugasku and SMAN 35 Jakarta already knew general information of basic life support although as many as 8.3% of respondents had neverattended basic life support training. In further research related to the same topic, 66% of respondents knew what CPR stands for and 83.3% knew when someone needs CPR. As many as 60% of respondents knew what to do immediately when they met someone who was losing consciousness. A total of 56.94% of 144 respondents already knew the signs of airway obstruction and 64.5% of them already knew the sequence of CPR recommended by ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) in 2020. And through research that has been conducted by SCORE CIMSA FK YARSI, it can be said that the majority of students at Tugasku Islamic Junior High School and SMAN 35 Jakarta already have an awareness of the importance of having the skills to provide BHD but are not yet qualified to do it themselves.

4th September 2022

On Saturday, 4th September 2022, SCORE CIMSA Universitas Indonesia held an online training event named SGP Level 1 REBOOT (SCORE Basic Research Training). This one-day event aims to increase knowledge and understanding of medical students, especially members of CIMSA and SCORE CIMSA UI about basic research. The event was held online on Zoom platform and has 2 sessions of webinars, an ice-breaking session, and a workshop with a total duration of 285 minutes. Before the webinar started, participants were given a pre-test to determine their initial understanding of the webinar’s material. After that, we began the first webinar session, which was presented by SCORE CIMSA UI alumni, Eric Ferdinand. He explained the introduction and concept of statistical analysis and how to implement it by using SPSS. Before getting into the next webinar session, we had an ice-breaking session to let the participants freshen up. We played guess childhood photos from some members CIMSA and SCORE CIMSA UI for 20 minutes. The game was really fun because many participants were involved in the game and will win prizes for the winning participants. The second session of the webinar was presented by SCORE CIMSA UI alumni, Nadine Aurelie. She explained basic research knowledge comprehensively, such as types of data, how to calculate sample size, sampling techniques, research instruments, and instrument validity and reliability. Before the webinar started, participants were given a pre-test to determine their initial understanding of the webinar’s material.
SGP 1 BRING - CIMSA FK UIN SH

16th September 2022

As a medical student whose ultimate goal is to become a doctor, the ability to conduct research is indispensable. In addition to obtaining a bachelor's degree, the ability to research is also a must because it will support a doctor who is a long life learner. For some students the research experience may for the first time have to write and record what they do, think, and discover in a coherent, concise, and precise manner. Therefore, SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH has provided training on basic research to provide provisions for CIMSA FK UIN SH members, especially SCORE members when doing research. On September 16th, 2022 SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH held its first activity, SGP 1. This activity is a webinar for SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH 2022-2023 members which discusses the basics when conducting research and discusses several types of research carried out by Dr. dr. Francisca A. Tjakradidjaja, MS, SpGK as a speaker. The event started at 03.30 p.m. with an opening speech by Local Coordinator, and Project Officer of SGP 1, continued with the presentations by the speaker who were guided by our Local Officer on Research Exchange, Anisah Tasya as a master of ceremony. After that, we held a QnA session. During that session, the participants were very active and very enthusiastic to know more about research. The activity was closed by giving certificate and having a photo session with all participants and speakers. Finally, we are very grateful that the event closed well with a post test, awarding certificates as appreciation to the speakers, and group photos. We also held a posttest to measure the impact that the activity brings to the audience. SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH members are very attentive and enthusiastic. We hope that this EDUKA activity can be useful for all participants. 14

LANTERN #2 - CIMSA UGM
16th September 2022
LANTERN: Learning and Exploring Together in Research, is a Community Development in SCORE CIMSA UGM that aims to improve and increase research interests and behaviors to younger generation. LANTERN has already conducted its first intervention back in March 2021, with topic of Introduction to Research as well as a simple hands-on experiment. LANTERN is back with its second intervention! Since we have done the first day of this 2nd intervention, we will be continuing to the long-awaited Day 2!! In this Day 2, a research proposal from each group is its main longitudinal objective. The Day 2 itself is held on 16th September 2022 in SMPN 5 Yogyakarta, where 16 students of 20 students SMPN 5 and LANTERN OCs from CIMSA UGM played an ice breaking game and reviewed on what has been taught in Day 1 during the “How to Make a Good Research Proposal” training by SAGASITAS, followed by a lengthy group discussion. This group discussion revolves around finalization of the group’s research topic and rough sketch of their proposal – starting from background information, problem statement, benefits of research, target population and methodology of the research itself. Briefing about the Research Logbook is also done by OCs in order to monitor and record progress in students of SMPN 5 on their research proposal. Lastly, documentation is done and that marks the end of this LANTERN intervention #2! Through this intervention, we hope that students obtain new knowledge on making a research proposal and can implement them in the upcoming month until follow-up on the 3rd week of October. Until next time!
X-BOX - MSCIA UB

24th September 2022

The two student exchange programs, that being the research and professional exchange programs, held by the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) allow medical students to experience medical research and clinical rotations overseas. We believe that an experience such as this will open opportunities for students to learn many aspects of medicine, and by allowing students to choose their desired departments and research project, the IFMSA student exchange programs will offer insights that will enable students to decide on their future career paths as physicians. We once again held the event XBOX: X-ploring the Benefits of X-change. The event began on 10th of September for two days. On the first day, we invited two former outgoing students, Keiko Christy Sembiring of SCORE exchange and Gyang Hanandita of SCOPE exchange to a talk show, where we talk about their experience during their stay overseas, what they have learned from their country of choice, how their research and clinical rotation went, and the ups and downs of their programs. On that same day, we invited dr. Thareq Barasabaha, M.T. to discuss the “Advantages and Difficulties of Technology Globalization in the Medical Field” On the second day of XBOX, we collaborated with one of English First. We invited an experienced trainer to hold an in-person conversation class, which were interesting and interactive. This will come in useful for students aspiring to participate in student exchanges. Furthermore, XBOX held a poster competition of which the finalists presented their work on the 24th September. The main topic of the poster competition was similar to that of the webinar. For the winners, there were money and certificates as a reward. 16
