About the Mount Scopus Foundation

The Mount Scopus College Foundation was founded to support the work and goals of Mount Scopus College. Since its founding in 1987 the Foundation has raised more than $60 million.

What does the Foundation do?

The Mount Scopus College Foundation exists to assist with the growth and development of Mount Scopus College.

Fee income cannot provide funds for growth, and so Scopus relies on the Foundation to support its aims and help deliver its vision into reality.

Tuition fee relief programs and bursaries are also significantly supported by the Foundation.

The Foundation is also committed to building a substantial Endowment Fund to help secure the future. The Foundation is governed by an Executive which sees its role as inspiring philanthropy within the Scopus community.

The Mount Scopus College Foundation works in partnership with the school to enhance the quality of our children’s experience and learning.

Purposeful and modern learning environments The Scopus Foundation funds capital improvements to deliver contemporary 21st century learning spaces and facilities for our school community.

In the last 20 years, with the support of our generous donors and benefactors, the Scopus Foundation has invested in a sports facility, Performing Arts Centre, Early Learning Centre, Multimedia and Technology Centre, Kitchen Garden Project, and new Primary School including recreational and sporting spaces.

Capital upgrades are being implemented thoughtfully and responsibly, taking into account the longer-term vision to secure an alternative site. As we continue to plan for the future, we are also firmly grounded in the present, committed to ensuring that the next generation of children are provided with the best possible learning environment.

Scopus Endowment Fund Affordability of Jewish education remains one of the greatest challenges facing our community today.

The Scopus Foundation has established an Endowment Fund to ensure the long-term sustainability and accessibility of Jewish education by bringing down the cost of education for all.

To date the Endowment Fund has funds in excess of $7million.

With your support, our vision is to build this Fund over time, to create an income stream to reduce school fees in perpetuity, making a Scopus education more accessible for all our families.

Helping more Jewish children to join our Scopus family With close to 1,500 students from Prep to Year 12, Scopus is the largest Jewish Day School in Melbourne, catering to the full spectrum of families in our community.

Membership of the Mount Scopus College Foundation is determined by one’s level of financial support.

We welcome your ongoing support and participation in the next exciting chapter of Mount Scopus, as we continue to deliver excellence in education and focus on future opportunities for the benefit of our school community.

Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. Gifts may be pledged over 3-4 years. Donations are cumulative and their aggregate is recognised through the levels below.

The Scopus Foundation funds a range of innovative programs and experiences for our students to ensure that they are equipped to thrive in the 21st century, including Leading Edge technology to support E-Learning and the International Baccalaureate Program.

We are strongly committed to ensuring that as many Jewish children as possible are able to join our Scopus family. For some, this would simply not be possible without the provision of a fee subsidy provided by way of a bursary.

Music, drama, dance and performing and visual arts are an integral part of the Scopus education, bringing life and soul to the school, and allowing our students to express themselves.

The Foundation assists the school to support more families in genuine financial need to receive a Jewish education, and to build a better future.

With your support, we can continue to invest in providing innovative experiences for our students, nurturing their talent and passion, and preparing our students for the world of today and tomorrow.
