I’m delighted to share with you Schulich’s 2024-25 Annual Impact Report, a celebration of the remarkable achievements of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners over the past year. Together, we have advanced the School’s four strategic priorities, strengthened our global reputation, and reaffirmed Schulich’s role as a leader in driving technology-led innovation.
This year we invested deeply in the student experience, modernizing classrooms and opening cutting-edge spaces such as the BMO Finance Lab, a state-of-the-art learning environment that simulates real-world decisionmaking. We also expanded opportunities for experiential learning, including new mini-case challenges and immersive international projects, and proudly celebrated a strong year of case competition success on both the national and global stage.
Schulich continued to lead in program innovation, creating learning opportunities that prepare students and professionals for a rapidly evolving business and technology landscape.
We introduced a “Super Course” on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as a Certificate in Digital Transformation that equips professionals with the skills to lead and manage digital change and innovation. Meanwhile, the Schulich Venture Academy expanded its impact, training the next generation of Canadian startup and venture talent by supporting hundreds of startups and entrepreneurs in areas such as AI, electric vehicles and clean tech.
Our faculty’s research is informing management thinking and practice, and through strategic partnerships with industry, government and community organizations, we’re advancing practical solutions to many of today’s key business and societal challenges. These collaborations extend beyond the classroom, connecting Schulich students with influential networks and high-impact opportunities that build both professional skills and societal value.

At Schulich, student success starts with world-class learning environments and extends to every part of campus life. This year, we upgraded classrooms and labs, expanded mentorship and career programs, and gave students more ways to gain global experience. From record-breaking Giving Day support to podium finishes at case competitions worldwide, Schulich students are learning, leading, and leaving their mark.


In April, the Schulich School of Business opened the BMO Future Leaders Finance Lab, a state-of-the-art, 55-seat facility designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving world of finance. Made possible through a $1.5 million gift from BMO, the Lab provides a cutting-edge hub where students can simulate real-world financial decision-making and explore the latest innovations in digital finance.
Equipped with AI-powered trading and analytics tools, specialized financial and data analysis software, cloud resources, and industry subscriptions, the Lab supports experiential learning for both undergraduate and graduate students. Through trading simulations, case studies, and applied research projects, students gain hands-on experience with the same tools and techniques used by finance professionals.
Under the leadership of Faisal Habib, Director of the BMO Future Leaders Finance Lab, students are able to work alongside financial experts, build financial models, analyze statements, and manage investment portfolios in an environment that mirrors professional finance settings. This landmark investment reflects BMO’s commitment to fostering the next generation of financial leaders
while advancing Schulich’s mission of creating a world-class student experience.

• Schulich Giving Day 2024 raised a record-breaking $291,607 from 422 donors, surpassing its goal by 145%. Anna Maria Ewing (MBA ’88) served as inaugural Honorary Chair, helping the campaign reach a historic $1M raised cumulatively since 2020.
• A transformational legacy gift from the Estate of Professor William A. Jordan will provide long-term support for students and academic programs.
• A KS22 Class Gift helped establish the Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association Diversity & Inclusion Award.
• Our new Scholarship Spotlight displayed the impact of student financial support across Schulich programs.
In 2024-25, Schulich continued to invest in physical and digital spaces that foster learning, collaboration, and student success.
• Tech-Enabled Classrooms: Eight classrooms were modernized, including large lecture rooms like N109, with enhanced computing capabilities to support digital testing. The McEwen Auditorium received major technology upgrades — from projectors to high-speed Wi-Fi — transforming it into a digitally agile learning and event space. Lounge 353 was also upgraded to allow seamless, student-run events.
• We also piloted a new Student Experience System aimed at enriching student development outside the classroom. The initiative supports a co-curricular transcript that tracks leadership, volunteerism, and involvement in clubs, offering students a structured way to build their networks and resumes.

The KS22 cohort were inspired to unite their class in support of a meaningful cause to mark their Kellogg-Schulich journey. They chose the Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association Diversity and Inclusion Award, an annual award given to an Executive MBA student who has shown commitment to advancing underrepresented groups, including Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Women, Disabled, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
• Hosted 9 Alumni2Student Speed Networking Events across specialized master’s programs with 563 participants, fostering vital mentorship connections in fields like Marketing, Accounting, Supply Chain, and Health Industry Administration.
• The Tech MBA Mentorship Program Networking Event and JD/MBA Speed Networking brought alumni and students together for career exploration and insights.

Professional Development & Experiential Education (PD&EE) continued to play a critical role in connecting academic learning with career readiness. The following are some highlights from the past year:
• Career prep courses were delivered to 317 graduate students across multiple programs.
• The Tech MBA achieved a 100% internship placement rate, with 50% converting into full-time roles — and an 83% post-program employment rate within 3 months (average salary: $114,000).
• Students in the Master of Marketing and MBA programs also secured competitive internships in top-tier organizations.
The Centre for Career Design (CCD) supported student career success in the following ways:
• Delivering 2,714 one-on-one student engagements (a 19% increase over last year) and 1,045 personalized advising sessions (+16%).
• CCD also hosted 47 employer events attended by nearly 700 students, reinforcing Schulich’s role as a key talent pipeline.

The Krembil Centre for Health Management & Leadership funded $45,000 in stipends for students placed in high-impact health-sector internships across Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia.

In 2024-25, Schulich’s case competition teams proved their strength across a diverse range of challenges — from sustainable investing and family enterprise to digital innovation — showcasing their problem-solving skills and innovative thinking in front of industry leaders and earning top finishes against leading schools worldwide.
• Captured 1st place for the fourth consecutive year at Ted Rogers’ Reimagining Women in Leadership Case Competition
• Won the inaugural Canadian Case Series (sponsored by BDC) with a solution to boost productivity among Canadian entrepreneurs.
• Finished 1st at the Sustainable Supply Chain Case Challenge (hosted by the Schulich’s George Weston Limited Centre), where 17 graduate teams from across Canada developed strategies to help Loblaw achieve Zero Food Waste by 2030.
• Secured 1st place for the second year in a row at Simon Fraser’s Net Impact Case Competition , where JD/MBA students designed a profitable, income-boosting program for Coast Capital members and were invited to present their solution at the company’s annual senior management review.
• Two Schulich teams claimed 1st place in their divisions at the 2024 ASCM Toronto Case Competition , competing against 18 teams from across Ontario. This marked the second consecutive year a Schulich team has taken the top prize.
• 2nd place at the L’Oréal Brandstorm National Finals, competing among 200+ teams across Canada, with team members receiving internship offers.
• 2nd place at the prestigious Schlesinger Global Family Enterprise Case Competition (15 countries represented).
• 3rd place at the Kellogg–Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge in London, U.K., advancing from a pool of 158 teams from 65 countries.

TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION STRENGTHS
• 2nd place at Haskayne’s Digital Innovation Case Competition, focused on tech entrepreneurship.
• Top 5 at Duke University’s Energy in Emerging Markets Competition, presenting solutions for EV adoption in Uganda.

• Competed in the largest international undergraduate case competition in the world, winning 2 out of 4 divisional rounds against top-tier schools
• Delivered innovative solutions on challenges including attracting female asset managers at Mackenzie Investments and a marketing strategy for a music festival.
M c GILL INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS ETHICS AND SUSTAINABILITY CASE COMPETITION
• Placed 3rd among leading business schools from throughout North America
• Tackled a case for Pratt & Whitney on sustainable fuel alternatives for aircraft engine manufacturing and stakeholder engagement.
EMBA CAPSTONE IN COSTA RICA
• Kellogg-Schulich EMBA students, led by Professor Geoffrey Kistruck, partnered with Costa Rican youth to co-create sustainable business models tackling real-world environmental and social issues
• Students extended their impact beyond the classroom with a donation to Casita Azul, a community hub for cultural exchange and empowerment — turning a learning journey into lasting change.

• MBA students worked with five local entrepreneurs to design sustainable business ventures , helping diversify Costa Rica’s economy beyond agriculture while protecting the environment.
• The week-long immersive course received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with students calling it “unforgettable” and “transformative.”
• Schulich’s Net Impact chapter was named 2024 International Student Chapter of the Year, beating out dozens of chapters worldwide.
• Under strong student leadership, membership surged by 67%, making it one of the largest clubs on campus.
• Hosted high-impact events on ESG, sustainable real estate, and urban development, reinforcing Schulich’s leadership in responsible business.

Schulich continues to design programs that anticipate the future of business. We launched new credentials while expanding flexible study options for working professionals. Executive education scaled its global impact, and our entrepreneurial ecosystem grew stronger with major new funding and partnerships.


The Schulich Venture Academy is delivering forward-looking programs that prepare entrepreneurs and start-ups for success in emerging industries. Established in 2024 and co-developed with Schulich ExecEd, the Academy delivers specialized, sector-focused training designed by leaders from Canada’s most successful tech companies.
Its programs immerse participants in practical learning experiences, equipping them with the strategies, insights, and systems needed to succeed in emerging fields.
This past year saw the Academy build on its early success training over 100 high-potential founders and executives by expanding its curriculum to include cutting-edge sectors such as artificial
intelligence, electric vehicles and clean technology. Supported by more than $3 million in funding from the Government of Canada, the Academy is scaling its innovative programming to reach more entrepreneurs while strengthening Ontario’s broader innovation ecosystem. Nearly 500 businesses and close to 1,000 participants will gain access to
immersive learning, mentorship, and applied frameworks that mirror realworld entrepreneurial challenges.
By combining practical expertise, forward-looking sector insights and hands-on training, the Schulich Venture Academy is equipping the next generation of founders to drive economic growth and transform ideas into impact.

Schulich introduced several new offerings to meet the evolving needs of business and society as well as our students:
• We introduced a Certificate in Digital Transformation , supported by a gift from RBC. This new credential will equip professionals with vital skills in managing digital change and innovation.
• The new Graduate Diploma in Accounting Analytics helps professionals develop key skills in data visualization, analytics, and emerging technologies like AI.
• We also launched a groundbreaking AI/ML Super Course, designed to prepare future business leaders to harness artificial intelligence across industries.
• New part-time study options for several Master’s programs now make Schulich more accessible to working professionals seeking career advancement.


Highlights from the past year at Schulich ExecEd include:
• Metrolinx Leadership Academy: Over 2,000 employees trained, earning recognition from the London Learning Awards.
• TD Bank North America: Launched a new program for 2,800+ Vice-Presidents focused on next-gen leadership.
• Mini-MBA for Indigenous Leaders: Inaugural cohort supported by Scotiabank, WSP, and the Barry & Laurie Green Foundation.
• Policing Programs: Delivered DEI and trauma-informed leadership training to police forces across Toronto, Peel, and York Region.
• Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Series: Created a transformative new program designed to empower women who have experienced intimate partner violence in collaboration with police and a local community organization.
PROGRAM INNOVATION
• Revamped BBA Sustainability Specialization (March 2025) Updated undergraduate program with new courses addressing the broad spectrum of sustainability issues, from impact investing and DEI to climate change and cross-sector partnerships.
• New Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure Course (SUST 6450) Students engage directly with partner organizations to conduct stakeholder consultations, perform materiality assessments and design customized sustainability reporting and disclosure strategies.
LAUNCH OF THE GWL MINI-CASE CHALLENGE
In December 2024, the George Weston Limited Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains introduced the GWL Mini-Case Challenge within the core curriculum of OMIS 6200 – Sustainable Strategies for Supply Chain Management.
• Over 75 graduate students participated in the inaugural exercise.
• Students developed solutions to mitigate supply chain disruptions, presenting to senior executives from Loblaw Companies Ltd.
• Developed in collaboration with Loblaw’s leadership, the challenge provides hands-on learning while embedding industry challenges directly into the curriculum.
• The GWL Mini-Case Challenge is part of a growing suite of experiential learning opportunities linking Schulich students with industry partners in meaningful, career-shaping ways.




High-impact research is central to Schulich’s mission. Our faculty secured record-setting grants, published in top journals, and advanced real-world solutions in areas from climate finance to healthcare
AI. Schulich is driving knowledge creation that influences business decision-makers, policymakers and communities.


A major research breakthrough, SimDec (Simulation Decomposition) is transforming the way organizations analyze data. Co-created by Schulich Professor Julian Scott Yeomans, SimDec makes sensitivity analysis — long considered too complex for widespread use — simple, accessible and highly effective.
By combining powerful visuals with easy-to-use calculations, SimDec enables both experts and nonspecialists to uncover insights that were previously hidden. Already applied in fields ranging from finance and sustainability to healthcare and advanced manufacturing, this innovative approach is helping organizations worldwide make smarter, data-driven decisions.
Professor Yeomans, Director of the Master of Business Analytics and Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence programs, captured this groundbreaking work in the book he co-authored, SensitivityAnalysisforBusiness, TechnologyandPolicymakingMade EasywithSimulationDecomposition (SimDec) , which was highlighted at a special book launch that took place at Schulich in November 2024.

• Schulich faculty brought in a record $1.67 million in research grants , with 100% success rates in SSHRC Insight and NSERC Discovery applications — a testament to the School’s growing research leadership.
• Our faculty continue to lead Canada in field-weighted citation impact and in publications across top-tier management journals. Faculty awards included Best Reviewer, INFORMS Meritorious Reviewer, CPA Fellowship, and Outstanding Mentor recognition from SSHRC and major journals.
Eight Schulich professors were recognized in the latest Research.com rankings of top scholars in Business and Management Science, both nationally and globally.
• Leading the way was Professor Russell W. Belk, ranked #6 in Canada and #126 worldwide. Other Schulich faculty named to Canada’s Top 100 list include Dirk Matten (#36), Eileen Fischer (#45), Justin Tan (#47), Dean Neu (#50), Anoop Madhok (#73), Preet S. Aulakh (#77), and Irene Henriques (#84)
• These rankings, based on citation metrics across peer-reviewed publications, underscore the global influence and thought leadership of Schulich’s research community.

Global Thought Leadership: Charles Cho Appointed to GRI Board
• Professor Charles Cho, Erivan K. Haub Chair in Sustainability, was appointed to the Global Sustainability Standards Board of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), becoming one of just 15 global experts shaping the world’s first internationally accepted sustainability reporting standards.
• The three-year appointment (2025–2027) underscores Schulich’s role in advancing global sustainability accountability.

• Schulich and Corporate Knights launched Canada’s first Climate Finance Index, creating a new benchmark for sustainability performance in the financial sector.
• The Krembil Centre leveraged nearly $4 million in research funding for projects on AI in health governance, workforce burnout prevention, and cancer care optimization.

The George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains hosted the 5th Annual Supply Chain Research Forum in Montréal (May 24–25, 2025), in partnership with HEC Montréal and Ivey Business School.
• The forum convened academic researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from more than 10 Canadian universities.
• Sessions focused on digitization, AI and analytics, sustainable operations, and healthcare supply chain innovations.
• The event reinforced Schulich’s national leadership in connecting cutting-edge research with real-world supply chain practice.

This year, we strengthened global ties with leading schools, industries and communities, while celebrating alumni who inspire and give back. From advancing sustainable finance and DEI initiatives to building innovation ecosystems and hosting signature alumni events worldwide, Schulich is deepening connections that expand opportunity and amplify our global reach.


Chris Carder, Executive Director of Schulich’s Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, was appointed the inaugural Jay Smith and Laura Rapp Chair in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, supported by a $1 million Schulich Foundation gift.
This past year, Schulich deepened its outreach to the global business and innovation community by forging new partnerships that support the next generation of entrepreneurs.
In collaboration with The Schulich Foundation, the School launched the Schulich Leaders Entrepreneurship Program, a four-week virtual bootcamp and pitch competition for STEM students and alumni from Canada and Israel. The program brought together 42 participants, who collaborated with mentors and judges from industry to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills, collaborate across borders, and compete for $15,000 in prizes. By linking technical expertise with business acumen, this program highlights the power of partnership to turn ideas into ventures.

Schulich also joined forces with the Prosserman JCC and the Jewish Entrepreneurship Alliance to launch Ontario’s newest startup accelerator — ChaiTech. Co-designed by Schulich graduate Daniel Warner (MBA ’12) and Chris Carder, Executive Director of Schulich’s Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, ChaiTech is training 130 Jewish Founders and their Co-Founders. This initiative not only supports new venture creation but also strengthens ties with the Israeli startup ecosystem and builds connections with innovation leaders across diverse communities.
Adding further momentum, Chris Carder was appointed the inaugural Jay Smith and Laura Rapp Chair in Entrepreneurship, supported by a $1 million Schulich Foundation gift. The Chair will advance research and teaching in areas critical to Canada’s innovation economy, while extending Schulich’s impact beyond the classroom and into the heart of the business community. Together, these initiatives underscore how Schulich is leveraging strategic partnerships to nurture entrepreneurs, strengthen Toronto’s reputation as North America’s fastestgrowing tech hub, and help shape the future of business in Canada and beyond.

During the year, Schulich strengthened its ties with industry, community organizations and global partners:
• The School’s new Centre of Excellence for Corporate Partnerships (CECoP) coordinated across 27 departments to centralize industry engagement.
• A new dual-degree program was signed with ESSEC Business School in France, expanding Schulich’s international footprint.
• The Employer Appreciation Awards celebrated partners including Deloitte, BDO, KPMG, Procter & Gamble, Questrade, and Enterprise Mobility for supporting student success and hiring Schulich talent.

Schulich continued to receive strong recognition in global and national rankings:
• Top 5 globally for Responsible Business in the Corporate Knights MBA ranking (large MBA programs category), which evaluated 174 global MBA programs based on sustainable development content in core courses and the percentage of recent graduates working in social impact roles.
• Top 100 worldwide for Career Success in the LinkedIn Graduate Outcomes ranking , which assessed full-time MBA programs on job placement, career advancement, network growth, leadership potential, and gender diversity, based on LinkedIn’s data from over 1 billion members.
• Top 35 globally in the Financial Times Executive Education ranking , with Schulich ExecEd ranked 4th in North America in the Open Enrolment category and 8th in Custom programs.
• The Kellogg-Schulich EMBA ranked 11th globally among joint programs by QS.
• Ranked #1 in Canada for Career Progress by Financial Times and placed among North America’s top 15 EMBAs.

Master of Supply Chain: Ranked #1 in Canada and 17th globally, including 5th among North American programs, and 10th globally for Alumni Outcomes.

Schulich alumni advanced their connections locally and internationally through signature events, thought leadership dialogues and volunteer initiatives that highlight the power of community.
• CONNECT ’24 brought together 280+ alumni for a dynamic day of learning, networking and professional coaching. Co-chaired by Pam Laycock (MBA ’89) and Roshni Wijayasinha (MBA ’09), the event featured:

• 12 sessions, 6 networking events, and 1:1 coaching from 9 professional coaches

FORGING GLOBAL & NATIONAL COLLABORATIONS IN RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
• Sustainable Finance Roundtable (February 2025) — Schulich convened leading banks, asset managers, pension funds, and insurers to chart the future of sustainable finance in Canada.
• Canadian Sustainable Finance Network Conference (June 2025) — Co-chaired by Schulich faculty, the conference brought together academics, PhD students, industry experts, and policymakers to share research and best practices.
• A4S International Case Competition (April 2025) — Hosted at Schulich, this global event united top student teams to tackle pressing climate transition and decarbonization challenges.
• Accounting for Impact Summit on DEI and Indigeneity (October 2024) — In partnership with CPA Ontario, Schulich participated in an international summit focused on advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and Indigeneity in accounting and finance. Schulich Professor Charles Cho co-founded Accounting for Impact network.




Schulich’s DEI initiatives continued to grow and gain momentum this past year:
• We hosted the Accelerate Action Conference for International Women’s Day, which welcomed over 300 participants.
• We launched the Schulich Women’s Network to advance mentorship, leadership and growth opportunities for women in business.
• During Black History Month, Schulich hosted the inaugural BEACON Conference, showcasing AfroCaribbean entrepreneurship and featuring keynote speaker Wes Hall.
• Indigenous-focused projects included the unveiling of a campus mural, a Three Sisters garden , and new historical plaques recognizing the land’s original stewards.

As a featured sponsor of the 2025 CITT Logistics Conference in Toronto (June 4–6), the George Weston Ltd Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains engaged directly with industry leaders, highlighted Schulich’s expertise, and advanced partnerships that connect students with future-ready career opportunities.
• 3rd Annual Supply Chain Alumni Networking Event
On October 26, 2024, Schulich hosted its 3rd annual Supply Chain Alumni Association (SSCAA) networking event:
• Alumni, faculty, and industry leaders came together for panel discussions and networking.
• The keynote Leadership Panel featured senior executives from Loblaw and Canadian Tire discussing “Implementing Data Driven Supply Chains.”
• Since 2022, the SSCAA has grown steadily, strengthening Schulich’s alumni network in this critical sector.
Schulich co-hosted Toronto Tech Week , which drew 10,000+ visitors, and helped launch the JumpSTART accelerator for international startups. We also welcomed over 60 STEM-focused high school students as part of the SHAD mentorship program.
