Wistaston Weekly

Week 34

Friday 14th June 2024

Next week has a definite sporting feel with Town Sports after school on Monday and Wednesday and of course, the main event, Sports Day, on Thursday.

We have all our fingers crossed that the predicted rain showers do not continue but if there is a possibility of these events not taking place we will of course, notify you at the earliest opportunity.

You will also notice that our website starts to look a bit different as we have been working with our trust, the TLP on updating the site and hopefully making it even more useful to you all. The changeover is currently ongoing and you may experience a few problems accessing the site until it is complete. Apologies if you are affected by this.

Don’t forget that the Wistaston Community Fair is taking place tomorrow and we will be part of the opening parade, celebrating 150 years of our school. Hope to see you there.

Kind regards

If your child has been invited to represent the school at either of the following events, parents are kindly asked to ensure their child is at the venue for 4:40pm ready for a prompt 5pm start.

• Field Events – Monday 17th June (Reserve date Monday 1st July)

• Track events – Wednesday 19th June (Reserve date Wednesday 3rd July)

They will need drinks and a snack. We ask for parents to ensure that all pupils remain in our allotted area at the event and do not leave this area until the event has finished. We also ask that food or icecream isn’t passed to them until after their event / race or races

Please ensure that your child has a water bottle, sun hat and has already applied sun cream. Parents/carers are invited to come along and watch the children take part in a variety of activities but must leave site after morning drop-offs and wait outside the main gate until instructed to go onto the field. We ask that parents remain in the designated area throughout the event. When parking, we kindly ask that you consider local residents and businesses and avoid parking at the back of the local shops. We also ask that you ensure that any photographs you take only show your own child and do not include any other pupils. This is especially important if you intend to share any images on social media. Thank you for your cooperation. It is much appreciated. We hope everyone enjoys the day.
