Help your son/daughter create a ‘workspace’ at home that is quiet, organised and free from distractions, such as social media. Get organised with: Revision guides…. Pens, coloured pencils, a ruler & rubber and...
• Highlighters
• Post-it-notes
• Blank flash cards
• Paper
Establish routines at home: times for revision, meals, relaxation, exercise and socialising
Teenagers need to sleep to fully function and make the most of their time in school. Late bedtimes mean lost time the next day as students are not working at their capacity. Mobile devices being used late into the night should be discouraged so that a good night’s sleep of at least 8 hours can be achieved.
Students have got to start revision somewhere and even 20 minutes a day will help enormously.
Help your son/daughter organise their time effectively with a revision schedule.... Praise their achievements (there is a button on ClassCharts for you to use).
We set meaningful homework in order to reinforce learning and promote independence.
On ClassCharts you will see:
A wide range of activities including reading, research, preparation and consolidation; knowledge and skills based
Homework signposted as “Reading, Revision, Recall”
Homework with clear deadlines and links to resources
Clinics are targeted and focussed support sessions run mostly after school.
They do not replace lessons or independent revision.
Clinics are for Year 10 and 11 students by invite.
Students can also attend homework club on Tuesday lunchtimes in C1
– we are open to expanding our offer if there is sufficient demand
