The children will be revisiting place value using dienes and HTO grids. We will then be comparing similar numbers, such as 846 and 864, by focusing on the hundreds, tens and ones. Later in the week, we will be looking at number patterns, counting large amounts by counting in 5s and 10s.

Our topic this half term is ‘myths and legends’. This week, we will be introducing the story of Theseus and the Minotaur. The children will focus on powerful adjectives and how these can be used in our writing. We will then create wanted poster for the Minotaur using these adjectives.

Science Our focus this half term is our bodies and how we can keep them healthy. Continuing on from last week, we will be asking the children to look at the nutrients our bodies need and we will be comparing the nutrients we need to different animals.

Geography/Computing Our Geography topic over the next half term is Greece. We will use the laptops and iPads to research different facts and information before asking the children to create a PowerPoint to present to the class.

Art Last week, the children began designing and painting their own heart collages using patterns created by various lines. This week we will continue these paintings as well as researching the artist Hundertwasser.
