Success Criteria
Review the essential knowledge content that needs to be embedded within each foundation subject. Define what each of the curriculum drivers mean within each foundation subject. Establish new topic headings for each Year Group / Phase / Whole School. Refine the school’s long & medium-term planning. School’s assessment policy to be updated to include spaced repetition of core subject content. Mini assessment activities introduced within each foundation subject. Summative Assessment designed to demonstrate learners’ development over time. Assessment Journals trialled in specific year groups.

Valley will have moved away fully from the IPC and will have realigned their curriculum to their four curriculum drivers.

Agree the different roles for the pupils in different year groups. Run the application processes for pupils where appropriate. Appoint pupils to roles and staff members to monitor their effectiveness. Reintroduce half-termly meetings between HT and attendance officer. Create section on school website informing parents of importance of regular attendance. Reintroduce regular attendance updates to parents. Increase focus on attendance of EHCP pupils and pupil premium. Valley to sign up to the new Bromley Attendance initiative. Update OPAL action plan. Elect OPAL helpers. Introduce a range of new, play activities each term.

Assessment is used effectively in all foundation subjects to check pupils’ knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate what they have learnt over time. Pupils will be able to make relevant links to strengthen their scheme within each subject There will be a variety of roles of responsibility for pupils of different ages embedded across the school.
Distribute planning to all Class Teachers. Weekly time given for the delivery of the character sessions. Infographic created to show links between character curriculum, PHSE curriculum and Core Values. Explore national events and weeks such disability awareness week, World Ocean Day. Draft assembly rotas for the year which acknowledge some of these key dates. Invite guest speakers to present at school assemblies.

Whole-school attendance will be at or very near to 97% and persistent absence will have reduced especially for pupils with an EHCP.

There will be an embedded programme of activities for for pupils to engage in at breaktimes The programme of study for character education will be fully embedded and will reinforce the school’s Core Values and PHSE curriculum. The school’s assembly programme will have been enhanced by a range of different speakers and organisations presenting.
