Main Barriers to Educational Achievement  Lack of confidence and self esteem  Lack of parental support/challenging home circumstances  Financial disadvantage limiting access to wider curriculum Nature of Support Pupil welfare and wellbeing – Employment of Learning Mentor:  To work with teachers across the school to identify barriers to learning, assist in pastoral care and improve progress and attainment.  To work with children across the school to eliminate barriers to learning – small group focus on social skills, forming friendships. Purchase of specialist equipment. Assertive mentoring groups.  To work with parents and carers across the school assisting in pastoral care. Maintaining TA capacity focused on supporting a range of Intervention Strategies:  Targeted small group support/1:1 tuition from TA outside core lessons.  Purchase of specialised equipment. Funding of school excursions and extra-curricular activities:  All trips and activities for PPG eligible children funded through PPG to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to participate. Rationale These approaches have proved successful in narrowing the gap between achievement of disadvantaged pupils and their non-disadvantaged peers in recent years.

Impact Analysis of the End of Key Stage data in 2018 indicates there are no significant differences in the attainment of Pupil Premium/non Pupil Premium pupils where Pupil Premium outperformed their non Pupil Premium peers. The achievement of pupil premium children compared to that of their peers is monitored and evaluated on a half termly basis in Pupil Progress meetings.
