Dear Parents, In light of the recent Government announcement moving Greater Manchester into Tier 4, we have to be prepared for any sudden changes to how schools are operating. As a school, we wish to remain open to all children but if infection rates rise we may be put into lockdown again for a short period of time. If there was to be a lockdown, there will be an expectation that all children who can stay at home do so. School will only remain open to a small number of children of critical workers who cannot work from home. Please see the link below for the list of critical workers:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educationalprovision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educationalprovision#vulnerable-children-and-young-people If one or both parents work from home then children should be kept at home with them, regardless if they are a critical worker or not. Although we are aware managing your own work and the home learning of your child is difficult, we need to minimise the number of children and staff in school to protect them and reduce the spread of the virus. The safety and well-being of our children and staff is paramount. We will only be open to children of critical workers who cannot work from home. If you feel your child falls under this category and there are no other child care options please email school on the address below by the end of the school day on Wednesday 6th January. Please state in the email your child’s name, year group, your occupation and the days of the week your child will need to be in school. bonnarj@st-stephens-kearsley-moor.bolton.sch.uk In the event of a lockdown, you may be required to provide proof of eligibility such as a letter from your employer. Many thanks for your continued support. Yours sincerely,
