Dear Parents/Carers, Once again I would like to thank you for your patience and support with home learning. These are incredibly challenging times and difficult for you as parents and for us as staff. The experience of home learning differs for every parent and every school and this needs to be taken into consideration. With younger children in particular they need far more support when completing home learning which is a challenge when you are trying to complete your own work or if you have more than one child. All parents are managing in their own way and completing work at different times of the day. The Class Dojo system seem to be working well, providing everything in one place, but I appreciate it doesn't replace the class teacher! Thank you for your feedback regarding home learning. We have received so many positive comments about how we are delivering this and how supportive the staff are being. As ever, it's impossible to get everything right in these difficult times, but The St Stephen's Team will always do their best to put things right. Don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have any issues or concerns. Currently, teachers and teaching assistants are in school supporting one another to deliver home learning on Dojo and care for those who have to be in school. Whether at home or in school, all the children will be expected to complete the same learning tasks set on Class Dojo. Every day, the children will be set an English/Phonics, Maths and topic task to complete. Teachers are trying to closely follow their Class timetables to ensure continuity of the curriculum. To support learning, teachers will sometimes upload a video to help introduce, explain or model how to complete tasks. On some occasions, you will be guided towards another video, such as White Rose maths. The staff have also been making some welfare calls, ensuring children are able to access the learning and upload it. In terms of Zoom sessions it is proving more difficult to deliver due to several factors, but we will endeavour to use these where and when we can in as safe a way as possible. Just a reminder, there are lots of additional sites and learning opportunities out there. Many can be accessed through the learning walls on your child's class page of the website. Please just do what you can. Everyone is learning through this lockdown, don't put too much pressure on yourselves and remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Take care Mr Puckey
